“ we all know tuesdays are my worst days, so making retail therapy on tuesday? my best idea ever.” brooke said, finally setting the heavy bags on the table and letting out a dramatic sigh. “ were you editing? “ she asked, pointing to her laptop sitting on the couch. “you’re going to do a roommate video one day, right? ‘cause i feel like your subscribers would kinda want to meet me, don’t you think?” she asked, in a completely serious tone. a smile widened on her face as she watched vera examine the bags she had gotten for her. “but you know i’m always going to.” brooke shrugged, nudging vera’s bags towards her. brooke knew vera’s style pretty well & if she saw something that stuck out to her, then she was going to snatch it. although she had a despicable attitude most of the time, she never directed it towards the people she cared for. she loved to treat the one she loved, and vera fell under that category, of course. brooke let out a giggle as she watched her open the bag. “i saw it and it screamed ‘you’ so i had to. it was the last one, how could i not? plus, it’ll be such a look if you wear it to class or even a party. you’ll look so hot. “

“  well  like  some  people  say  ,  tuesdays  are  often  worse  than  mondays.  and  it’s  kinda  true.  i  feel  that.  ”  vera  taps  her  fingers  against  the  kitchen  table.  “  oh  !  yeah  ,  i  was.  now  just  uploading.  gotta  try  and  get  the  vlog  up  on  time  or  at  least  some  of  the  time,  ”  she  replies  with  a  chuckle.  she  made  a  general  statement  and  promise  to  herself  to  get  the  videos  up  at  least  once  a  week.  “  of  course  ,  i  really  need  to  get  on  that.  ONE  DAY  we  will  sit  down  and  down  and  do  a  roommate  video.  or  we  can  just  have  a  roomie  outing  and  i  can  just  vlog  all  of  that.  i’m  sure  my  subscribers  would  love  to  meet  you.  ”  it  was  a  surprise  that  vera  hadn’t  done  a  video  with  brooke.  the  two  have  known  each  other  for  a  while  and  even  ran  in  the  same  social  circles  back  home.  “  honestly  ,  i  LOVE  it.  i  think  it  just  proves  that  i  really  need  to  shop  more.  and  not  just  for  athleisure.  ”

“  i’m  gonna  be  honest  with  you  ,  we  sound  so  BASIC  right  now  talking  about  hiking.  ”  vera  laughed  and  shook  her  head.  it  was  a  california  thing  ,  right  ?  to  go  hiking  as  a  recreational  activity  ?  but  hey  ,  anything  to  spend  time  with  her  friends.  even  if  it  did  mean  going  hiking.  “  well  it’s  not  for  everyone.  the  only  times  i’ve  done  it  is  during  practice.  and  those  were  one  of  the  fun  days  when  we  were  just  working  on  our  throws.  ”  she  would  readily  admit  that  knowing  judo  was  an  advantage.  she  was  just  glad  she  hasn’t  used  it  on  anyone  outside  of  competition  and  practice.  “  it’s  semantics  is  it  not  ?  ”

11.  biggest  lie  ?

“  i  fell  in  love  with  kickboxing  and  judo  the  first  time  i  laid  eyes  on  it.  i’ll  admit  it  interested  me.  but  switching  from  ballet  to  that  really  intimidated  the  hell  out  of  me.  i  had  my  doubts.  and  it  didn’t  help  that  there  is  still  sexism  surrounding  both  kickboxing  and  judo.  ”

“  i’m  overly  competitive.  i  have  this  need  to  show  people  that  i  am  FAR  more  capable  then  i  really  am.  i  know  that  i  don’t  have  to  prove  shit  to  anyone.  but  i  still  do  it  anyways  because  i’m  petty.  ”

“  usually  with  milk.  split  the  cookies  in  half  ,  lick  a  part  of  the  icing  ,  sandwich  the  cookie  back  together  and  then  dip  it  in  the  milk.  it’s  like  the  commercials.  i  literally  eat  it  how  they  would  in  a  commercial.  ”

“  i’m  indifferent  about  them.  if  they  can  give  me  a  good  scare  then  cool.  i  think  i’m  a  bigger  fan  of  the  horror  movies  that  have  that  creepy  element  to  it.  and  it  doesn’t  involve  a  whole  bunch  of  blood  and  GORE.  ”

“  my  grandparents  certainly  aren’t  pleased  about  this.  i’m  more  surprised  that  i  wasn’t  DISOWNED.  but  i  have  a  quarter  sleeve  tattoo.  i  don’t  think  i  have  any  plans  to  get  a  full  sleeve  to  be  honest.  but  the  ones  that  i  have  so  far  have  some  sort  of  meaning  to  them.  and  as  for  piercings  ,  it’s  just  the  standard  lobe.  can’t  risk  getting  more  piercings  because  of  judo.  ”

there was absolutely no doubt in his mind that she could kick his ass, and that’s why when she so much as mentions sparring, he cringes. “— but why would i do that when i could just go on a hike instead ?” he doesn’t care for the gym much anyways— it was too cramped for his taste. he’d rather be outdoors and soaking in all the sunlight he could get before he went back to cold and rainy maine. “do you really think you could—- you know what ? nevermind. i don’t wanna find out.” he shakes his head, tossing a boyish grin in her direction, “i always mean it too. a maybe’s not a promise… loopholes, v. they’re everywhere.”

brooke was struggling to open her front door with all the shopping bags she was holding, but she finally got a hold of the door knob and practically kicked the door down. “god.” she basically yelled, not worried about what her neighbors might think. she carried the bags inside and let out a few laughs as she saw vera watching her. “retail therapy is every tuesday, you know that.” brooke said, setting all her bags on their kitchen table. “i bought some stuff that i think you’d like, so take a peek.” brooke said, handing two bags to vera, knowing the girl would like it. of course she would, brooke was a genius when it came to fashion. in her mind, she knew everyone’s style before they knew their own. @verasylvia​

vera  managed  to  finish  editing  yesterday’s  vlog  to  upload.  nimble  fingers  clicked  through  as  her  eyes  scanned  her  recorded  content.  she  barely  just  started  uploading  the  video  to  her  channel  when  she  heard  brooke  yelling.  she  turned  from  her  seat  on  the  couch  and  watched  her  roommate  with  an  amused  expression.  “  well  of  course  i  know  that.  gotta  channel  that  into  something  ,  right  ?  ”  vera  laughs  and  shakes  her  head.  she  got  up  from  her  seat  and  walked  over  to  the  kitchen  table.  “  you  know  you  really  didn’t  have  to.  ”  nonetheless  ,  she  took  the  two  bags  from  brooke.  no  point  in  trying  to  refuse  what  she  already  got  here.  and  there  was  no  doubt  that  brooke  chose  something  that  she  would  LOVE.  in  the  next  moment  ,  she  was  looking  into  the  bag  and  pulling  out  a  gorgeous  embroidered  silk  bomber.  “  oh  my  god  ,  now  you  SERIOUSLY  didn’t  need  to  go  through  all  that  effort.  but  i  will  admit  ,  i  love  it.  it’s  amazing.  ”
