'Oh my brother, my husband, friend, High Priest! Do not weary of drinking, eating, getting intoxicated and making love! Make holiday! Follow your heart day and night! Let not care into your heart otherwise what use are your years upon earth? As for the west, it is a land of sleep; darkness weighs on that place where the dead dwell. Sleeping as mummies they do not wake to see their brothers, they are not conscious of fathers or mothers, their hearts forget their children. The water of life which is nourishment for all is thirst for me: it only comes forth to those upon earth.'
From the tomb of the wife of the High Priest of Ptah when Cleopatra initially came into power. I discovered in 'The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt' by Toby Wilkinson. Taimhotep died at 31.
