It was no secret that Peter Stroker-Fairfax’s manic moods often revolved around some dramatic family affair – from having a hard time deciding which wine to pair the main course at the annual Larkspur-Fairfax Wintersday feast to fussing about something, anything, that involved his precious daughter Veronica. From his overprotective behavior towards her, to blurring the lines between a parent/child and BFF/BFF relationship when it came to spa days or shopping sprees, Peter doted on her to extremes. Hardwick, by now, was used to it. And used to how Peter generally handled that sort of stress, particularly when it came to their Veronica. Still, of Ronnie’s two dads, Peter was the more sensible one in many circumstances.
But he was stressed and missing her, so he did that thing he does when stressed and missing her. He’d go shopping!
Later that day, delivered to their dorm room at Queen Salma College, Veronica and her lucky roommate Nela received all the spoils sure to send waves of envy down the iconic Beetletun House’s hallways. All the ‘basic’ necessities and then some! Everything was top of the line and in the young Fairfax’s preferred colors, brands, scents, you name it. Silk bed sheets and plush extra moa feather pillows, designer bathroom accessories, all of Jay’s Organic Dry Top Oasis hair care line, even Ellen Kiel’s sister’s skin care products (aptly named Kiel’s) were in the ridiculously glamorous care package. Little things to make Veronica’s evenings and adequate sleep more pleasant, such as eye masks and earplugs, were, of course, also included. And everything was doubled –for the roommate, whatever she was like, would not be deprived. Peter believed that if he ignored the roommate it’d just provoke said roommate’s already existing undoubted jealousy of Veronica to escalate, and he was not having that. It was best they’d be friends, or friendly at least. A heartfelt note from Peter would read as follows:
My beautiful Ronnie, I trust you’ve been settling into life at the college by now, and likely already run the school! As you can suspect, by the large shopping spree, I miss you dearly. I don’t care that you were away while at Glass Academy as well, it never gets easier, my darling daughter. Never! I hope you enjoy this -first- shipment and that they bring you some comfort. Assuming your roommate is smart, she’ll take a page out of your fabulous book and learn from you, appreciate these minor luxuries. I’ve no doubt she’s already looking up to you, as should everyone else. I cannot wait for your next visit, and for when I visit. Your loving father, ~Daddy Petey

A letter penned, that was delivered by a confused old Asura with MesmerMail who explained he had somehow been lost in a portal for some time.
Dearest Daddy and Pop-pop,
I just LOVE all this stuff and my roomie, Nela, she’s a peach loved it too. She said she was going to write you a letter herself. So, hopefully you get two pink envelopes from two grateful girls. It really livened up this place. I was soo disappointed to find out I had to stay on campus, but this helps! Plus, Nela isn’t obnoxious.
School is great. I was made Cheer Captain first thing this year because that clumsy old hag, Jenny Lockheart fell during her dismount in some total freak accident and landed right on her hip and knee at the same time and oh, goodness Daddy her leg bent the wrong way we all saw it. It was totally the wildest thing but, she’s out for the season and the rumor among the Squad is that she’s out forever. She didn't’ even come back to school. Which is good for me because I was better than her anyway.
Anyway, I’m off to check out this art thing for fun. I’ll see you at Wintersday!
Love,
Ronnie
