what they dont tell you is its easier to draw stuff if you've seen a bunch of stuff. but you aint lookin at stuff while you're looking at the drawing. its fucked up but true. sometimes you cant solve it any other way then lookin at stuff.

Quick Aurora doodle cuz im struggling with their au design... again...

The fish heads fun, im not gettin rid of it. But the problem with it is its like... not a good shape to draw front facing, so id have to draw them at an angle all the time. Ive found a compromise where i can just tilt their head down when they're looking head on, also makes em look like they dont have a mouth hehe

Another struggle is with their hands, ive played around with the arms or no arms thing in other doodles and its a hard decision for me. On one hand, Arms will cut off all the pastel colors going on in their design, especially with their massive betta tail (The body one not the one on the hat) But sleeve designs are my weak point. Only hands gets rid of the empty feeling sleeves but makes the pink feel so overpowering

nothing’s more revealing than when an artist draws humanizations for a large group of things — like “here’s all the elements as anime girls” or “here’s anthro versions of all the starter pokemon” — and every single one of them is skinny. like it just immediately signals that the artist does not draw fat people or even consider the existence fat people when designing characters. ten or more character designs and they all have the exact same body type. if i saw a group of people like that in real life i would assume that they are just so rancid about fat people that they do not have any fat friends, and/or that they’re literally a cult
