Let's Get Pinned!
This is not really a "Versus/Hearts" piece, but it's close. :) This was a work commissioned by Pinterest for their Valentine's Day campaign. I did a couple of illustrations for them. For this particular illustration, I just wanted to show the "rivals" settling their differences and marrying each other. It's their real life corkboard. Their polaroids, pinned together to form an angular heart. :)

I totally enjoyed Pacific Rim! I grew up watching Kaijus and Mechas when I was a kid. :) So here's the new Versus/Hearts, it's Knifehead versus Gipsy Danger! :)
Giant & Man
I've been watching and reading Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) recently, and I've been really enjoying it. :) I quite like the manga more because it's not overly dramatic as the anime. Haha. :)

Versus/Hearts Red Booklet
I’ll be selling five copies of this book tomorrow at the “Art in the Park”. This is sort of a test run to see if the VS/Hearts illos will work as small detachable prints. :)
The print quality is good, but there are imperfections with the binding. :/
I will be sharing the booth with awesome artists, designers & illustrators. We will be at the Aimless booth C2. :)

I've been wanting to make a Richard Parker vs Pi after I watched "Life of Pi" last month. :) I really loved the movie. Yey!

My favorite Cat & Mouse rivalry
Alien vs Alien. Predator vs Predator.
Both of these guys are villains. But I had to take a side. Hahaha. I'm more partial to the Predator since it looks more badass. Who wouldn't want to take the side of an alien with dreadlocks? :p
The Street Fighters
My favorite fighting (video) game is Street Fighter. A lot of my friends like Tekken more, but for some reason SF appeals to me more. :) My favorite Street Fighter is Ken. I was originally thinking of making Ken and Ryu but I opted for Akuma (Gouki) since he's more evil! :) Haha. My other favorite character is Dan Hibiki, only because he's my namesake. Haha. :) Enjoy!
Ninja & Ninja
Two of my favorite characters in the GI Joe animated series are ninjas: Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. :) My third favorite would be Storm Shadow's other rival, Spirit. :)
The first GI Joe movie sucked, but it seems like the upcoming sequel is going to be better... I hope. :p
The Symbiote & The Spider
One of my favorite Marvel crossovers was Maximum Carnage. :) It was great to finally see Venom and Spidey work together to battle Carnage. The SEGA Genesis game of the same title was also a favorite of mine. :)
The King of Evil & The Elf
Apart from Pokemon, one of the games I enjoyed playing in the Game Boy was Legend of Zelda. :) I also enjoyed watching the really old Zelda TV series. It usually came after the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. :) Link wasn't blonde and Ganon was a big bad pig. For this particular illo, I used the humanoid Ganon. :)
Link also used to say "Excuuuuuse me Princess" a lot. :)
The Doc and the Rock
Rockman, more popularly known as Megaman was one of my favorite Family Computer games (other faves were Super Mario 3, Contra, Karateka, Twin Bee & Bionic Commando). The title screen soundtrack was also really good!
The Snake and the Lightning
I was never really a big fan of Harry Potter, but I read all the books. :) My favorite book was Prisoner of Azkaban. My favorite HP movie was also Prisoner of Azkaban and the other movie where Harry and Hermione danced. I thought it was so artsy. Hahaha. Can you guys guess what's happening in this illo? :) Hint: It's supposedly a magical phenomenon.
The Egg and The Spike
"Too Fast for the Naked Eye, Sonic the Hedgehog..." I used to watched the cartoon series when I was in high school. :) The games on SEGA Genesis were also one of my favorites. :)
