Another newleaf has begun in ShoreClan. ShoreClan does not have enough medicine cats. Stonestar is still wrought with grief over the loss of Limefold and having a hard time picking himself up to perform his usual duties. Annoyed, Petrifern insists then that her daughters warrior ceremony take place. Skyrock has taught her well and it will help at least one member of the clan focus on things other than the current apprentices until Toadswirl's apprentice comes of age.
ShoreClan hasn't seen an apprentice graduate early before the impromptu ceremony Stonestar holds specifically for Emberpaw. Even she is surprised. Unbelievably proud, but surprised. Skyrock influenced her to be friendly toward others, to avoid violence, follow the status quo, and think deeply about things that have happened. She's become an excellent swimmer. Stonestar appreciated the cat's exemplar as well. From this day on, Emberpaw is now known as Emberstreak.
Of course, Flamepaw and Burntpaw now feel like they've fallen behind their sister by miles. They've always been closer to each other than her. Flamepaw especially is feeling competitive. Burntpaw feels like he keeps getting stuck with kitsitting tasks.

Gingerstrata decides she and Palecore will focus on training the apprentices. Tensions are high with Flamepaw and Burntpaw, they have a hard time understanding why Emberstreak got to graduate and they haven't. Burntpaw is quick to tell Flamepaw he is clearly not ready and his brother prickles up at him. They turn to their mother for answers. She tried to dissmiss it by telling them that clearly Emberstreak was ready and they are not. Maybe if they focus on training, they can be ready sooner. Neither of them liked that answer and could only focus on their perceived unfairness of the situation. She gave up on trying to resolve it and Palecore felt disappointed by the way Petrifern handled that.

Since Palecore had other duties to work on, Toadswirl once again took Gingerstrata on an herb-gathering patrol, hoping to talk more about his kits. They are finding a lot of blooming herbs and Toadswirl almost wishes thy had taken more warriors to gather them all. Gingerstrata is proving to be a big help. Until he starts having an allergic reaction to the tree pollen. Toadswirl is not annoyed, but he uses this to his advantage by instructing Gingerstata to gather the more pungent herbs that he can't smell. The two have an effective herb-gathering mission. They don't end up talking much about the kits after all, but when they return, Wildkit is in the medicine cat den.

Skyrock takes Emberstreak on her first hunting mission. Sandtooth comes as well. As they are on their patrol, Emberstreak explains a strange idea for squirrel hunting. Trying to encourage her to, Skyrock says she should go for it. Her idea is to bait the squirrels down the trees with food and then snipe them when they come down. It's a little tedious. It involves a bit of relocating. But it works. And the team is able to bring a substantial amount of fresh kill back to camp. Both of the older cats feel impressed and Skyrock feels especially proud of her former apprentice.

Frogface leads border patrol with Sablecrust and Hor Kai by his side. Hor Kai sees two GrackleClan kits playing close to the border. He wouldn't forgive himself is something were to happen to those kits. So he asks Frogface if he and Sablecrust can return them home. Frogface agrees. Relations with GrackleClan improve. The other two cats are impressed with how gentle Hor Kai is with the kits.

ShoreClan does not have enough medicine cats. Toadswirl spends some time in the nursery to look over Gingerstrata's litter. They watch from afar as they interact. They watch Oddkit tell Pricklekit that he's worried about him and then see Shykit prevent something from falling on him. When Shykit comes into view, Toadswirl sees that they are covered in lose herb remnants, just completely messy. They wonder if this means they have interest in medicine. Pricklekit puts something back where it belongs. Wildkit and Shykit work together to lead a bug out of camp. At this point, Toadswirl is unsure which of them would make the best candidate for medicine cat.
Toadswirl decided to recruit Gingerstrata for an herb gathering patrol to discuss the matter further. Their moss-gathering mission is successful. Gingerstrata speaks more about his kits. How the Oddkit and Shykit are constantly climbing, how Pricklekit has an active imagination, how Wildkit seems to have interest in StarClan. Toadswirl makes note of all of this.

Skyrock and Palecore led the apprentice training this moon as Petrifern is focused on other matters. Immediately, a fight breaks out between the apprentices. They all turn to Skyrock to settle their dispute and tell them who is right. Skyrock refuses to validate their argument and tells them to focus on training. Would they rather the day be about a petty argument, or would they rather learn something? Skyrock feels fortunate that they all listen to her reasoning and respect the way she handled the situation.

Petrifern took Hor Kai on her border patrol. They found some strange pawprints and followed their scent until they led to a trespassing rogue. The two of them worked together to chase the rogue off the territory.
ShoreClan does not have enough medicine cats. Coalpelt and Stonestar curl into one another in pained agony over the loss of Limefold. Their grieving extends to the next moon.
Toadswirl feels guilty, but there's a part of him that feels relief knowing that his petulant mentor won't be here to boss him around or provide ungrateful commentary.
Palecore joins Toadswirl on an herb-gathering patrol. He doesn't want him to be alone. Hoping that he can teach his apprentice a little something about different duties in the clan, he brings along Flamepaw. Toadswirl has a hard time talking and hardly explains what he's doing. He just laughs when Flamepaw gets confused about something. Palecore would've preferred if his partner would've instead explained something to the young cat. He quietly wonders what it will be like with Toadswirl has his own apprentice in a few moons.

Meanwhile, Petrifern and Skyrock take Burntpaw and Emberpaw to train. Petrifern suggest that they should work on fighting training. Burntpaw gets excited because in a recent training session, he did so good that he received praise. He hopes to impress his mother and his sister when skirmishing with her. Unfortunately, he is so focused on being impressive that he keeps falling and bruises himself. He immediately hides in his den when they get back to camp.

Frogface and Sablecrust have been spending a lot of time together. Between sneaking out of camp together, going on hunting patrols, and the friendship they've had ever since they were kits, Sablecrust tries to remember that this isn't a romantic relationship. He's asked Frogface twice before and been denied. But he's happy to continue to be his best friend. He thinks that at least. One day they are on a patrol together and are playing around and laughing as it wraps up. Frogface turned to Sablecrust and said he's ready. Said he wants him. Says he can't imagine a life without Sablecrust in it and that must mean that he wants to commit himself to him. Sablecrust is in shock and emotional over the sudden declaration. And even more surprised when they have an audience of a few other ShoreClan members witnessing this declaration. But he puts his head against Frogface's and mirrors the commitment. Frogface and Sablecrust are now mates.

Petrifern instructs Frogface to lead a border patrol before she goes to apprentice training. Eager to prove himself to the deputy, he takes Sablecrust. They are near the LyreClan borderline when the two of them notice that a LyrceClan scent is on their side of the border. After investigating, they find that an apprentice from the other clan had simply ended up on the wrong side. Sablecrust chuckles and gently guides him back to his own territory.

Gingerstrata is finally feeling well enough to take up a hunting patrol and is feeling a fire in his belly to hunt to feed his kits, despite his paw pads becoming chapped by the cold weather. He goes with Sandtooth and Hor Kai. As they're out, they hear an odd sound coming from a bush. Hor Kai takes the lead, not wanting anything to happen to the new father. Unfortunately, he comes face to face with a fox. Despite the cat rapidly backpedaling away, the fox gets a good bite in before the other two cats can back him up. The fox is chased away, but Hor Kai has a torn pelt.
He was called Stoneriver back when he was a MountainClan cat. He's always been a little nervous, but pays attention to everything. He was the first to notice the landslide that destroyed the Old Camp and he took quick action to save as many lives as he could. He guided the ragtag group of survivors to the lakeshore where the new clan was formed. As the founding leader of ShoreClan, he constantly worries about whether or not he making the right decisions for the clan and he leans on his deputy a lot to take charge. That is, when he isn't making quick decisions without her. As he has gotten older, he has become more insecure. He'll often suspect what a cat's next actions will be rather than asking up front.
On Moon 10, he and Sandtooth spent some time together and two months later, he became a father of three. While he and Sandtooth never became mates, he has always felt an affection for his three children. The disjointed family has mutual affection for one another. Stonestar has always had a bit of a thing for Coalpelt and has an emotionally charged thing for Petrifern, who he sometimes believes should've been clan leader in the first place.
Envies and distrusts Petrifern. Cherishes Skyrock and knows her deeply, but begrudges her.
In MountainClan, Petrifern was one of the most competent warriors and the best fighter. Stonestar said himself that she would've made a better leader than him and she has never let that go. Petrifern is self-righteous, competent, and has little sense of humor.
Moon 28, Petrifern gave birth to a litter of kits. The father is from another clan, but felt a new sense of duty upon having her litter and is very protective toward them. She went as far as to hand-pick their mentors.
The cat she gets along the least with is the leader himself. She cannot stand to be around him and the two of them will often have snide arguments. It's a wonder anything has been able to get done in this clan. Aside from him, Petrifern is attentive toward most other members of the clan. She has been slow to open up to new arrivals, including the cats born into the clan, but having her own litter has warmed her to the idea of the clan expanding.

Crestedspeck had just graduated from her apprenticeship under the MountainClan medicine cats before the landslide hit the camp. She had been since she was young that she held a unique affinity with StarClan. She utilized this position to speak to them and who of the survivors was best to lead their wayward group, and a voice told her: Stoneriver— Stonestar.
A large maine coon, Crestedspeck was always aware of herself and her surroundings. She was nervous, but she had steady paws ideal for medicine cat work. When problems arose in camp, she would try to find the right herb obsessively and stockpile it even when the problem was already gone. It made her worry that she was the only medicine cat and she was eager to take on an apprentice at some point. She always did her herb gathering with her kithood friend and later mate, Limefold.
The day Crestedspeck took on her first apprentice, she took him out to make sure he could identify the most poisonous of plants: the lily. She told Toadpaw to be careful, but made her own fatal error and ended up poisoned by the lily's pollen. She died soon after and left ShoreClan without a fully trained medicine cat.

Limefold never thought of himself as any kind of extraordinary cat. He wasn't the strongest or smartest. He felt in tune with own emotions and the feelings of those around him and thought that perhaps, one day, he could be a clan mediator. He felt lost during the MountainClan landslide and took a lot of time finding his role within ShoreClan, but he knew that whatever his role was that it was next to Crestedspeck. They spent all their time together and eventually became mates.
When she joined StarClan, Limefold did the only thing that felt right in the moment. He became ShoreClan's new medicine cat. He'd spent the most time with the departed medicine cat and he knew enough about the herbs. He did his best to train the abandoned apprentice, Toadpaw. But he felt emotional and distraught and often lashed out at the younger cat.
Often, Limefold pushed himself too hard. He wanted to prove to StarClan that he was able to take up his mate's mantel and make her proud. This alienated him from others, especially Toadswirl who felt he often was worried more about his own goals than the clan. Especially when Limefold wandered off and got so hurt he walked with a limp for the rest of his life. It all came to a head when Limefold pushed a patrol to hunt for daisies on a snowy day in leafbare. Despite his companions begging him to stop, he kept hunting until his bones got cold and he collapsed.

Coalpelt's family legacy was deeply embedded in MountainClan. Her mother was the previous leader. Her father was a medicine cat. This has always made her feel a little insecure about her lack of position. In ShoreClan, she is the oldest of the warriors. She was curious about the other clans and had a secret affair with a cat from a neighboring camp. He gave her two kits that she feels enormous pride for. While nursing them, she became close to Sandtooth who had just given birth to their kits as well. The two decided to become mates and have comfortably been companions ever since.
Coalpelt established the elders den and spends her days of retirement watching kits and guarding camp.
Many cats in ShoreClan hold her in high regard and fancy her quite a bit. Favors her own family over all others and trusts the authority figures of the clan implicitly, including the medicine cats.

When Sandtooth was a kit, they were found abandoned and brought into MountainClan. They spent their whole life in the clan until it was destroyed in the landslide. Feeling as though there were more important members of MountainClan's legacy that should have survived, they have a bit of survivor's guilt. But their relationships they've forged in ShoreClan have helped them move forward.
They have a disjointed kind of family with Stonestar, having birthed his kits on Moon 12 of ShoreClan. They feel as though the young cats of the clan, including their own sons, have taught them more about life than anything else. So they are excited by their own children starting to become parents as well. They have been mates with Coalpelt since the two of them occupied the nursery together.
Sandtooth has deep affection and loyalty for their whole family, including Stonestar. Sunbeam and Skyrock have a special place in their heart after watching them grow up as well. Most other cats, they have a hard time approaching. Especially Petrifern, given her unkind words toward Stonestar.
They had been a kit playing hide-and-seek with their littermates one moment and the next, their home had collapsed on top of them. They were dug out by Coalpelt and journeyed with the rest of the wanderers to the lakeshore that would become ShoreClan.
They grew to be quite a personality in the clan. They were someone that many felt they could talk to and rely on. They were helpful and worked to reinforce dens for the kits and queens. They found a mate in their best friend, Skyrock.
Sunbeam gave their life for the clan when a rogue attacked and left them with a fatal wound.

She doesn't remember MountainClan at all. She just knows that the mountain overlooking the current camp represents a lot of pained memories to her elders.
Ever since she was little, her and Sunbeam were tight-knit. Whether it was in their playful competitions or snuggling during storms. Becoming mates felt like second nature. Where Sunbeam was charismatic and steady, Skyrock was a patient teacher and a trusted companion to most. Skyrock has sustained scars growing up in ShoreClan. She's been attacked and frozen. But she doesn't feel insecure about how time has changed her, she feels like a warrior that has served her clan.
Sunbeam and her became mates shortly before the other cat passed. She still holds them in her heart. She gets along fairly well with the rest of the cats in the clan and enjoys being a mentor.
We've been making our way through Hoenn and backtracking through the map now that we've learned surf. And Joyce evolved just in time to help us use surf!
After a stroll through Route 118, we ended up at the Weather Institute and kicked this Team Aqua admin's butt.
The scientists at The Weather Institute gifted us a castform for helping them. We don't exactly accept new members, but it'll be good to have him in our back pocket in case we experience a loss :)
Right after The Weather Institute, Brendon challenged us to a fight instead of letting us peacefully head into Fortree.
And we handily kicked his butt as well.
We got into Fortree and realized we wouldn't be getting into the gym easily, so headed off to the next route. Route 120 was not kind to us though. It specifically wasn't kind to poor Pixie. She was the victim of a OHKO by the first wild Pokemon we encountered. An Absol. I was so bummed. I really wanted to see her become a Raichu.
Fortunately, the new member of the team has already been selected and we don't have to hunt one down. So now, Vayne the Castform joins the party. I'm excited to try using a castform as a main party pokemon and I hope he doesn't die immediately. I'm a huge fan of weather gimmicks.
The third year of ShoreClan comes to a close as leafbare starts. The fourth litter of clanborn kits is leaving the nursery and exploring the only territory they've ever known.
Toadswirl has been doing their part to care for Gingerstrata while he's recovering from giving birth. But the recovery is not affecting his confidence at all. And he seems to be taking Toadswirl's kindness the wrong way. Despite the fact that his own brother is mated with the medicine cat, Gingerstrata told Toadswirl that he was feeling quite affectionate toward them and believes they could be great together. The medicine cat gives this no time and swiftly tells Gingerstrata that he has much more crucial things to be worried about than flirting with his brother's mate. Especially when Palecore is sick with greencough. Especially when Frogface told Toadswirl that Gingerstrata had approached him before as well.
Gingerstrata gets the message and Toadswirl leaves.

Limefold decides it's time for a big leafbare herb gathering patrol. He enlists Hor Kai to help him and Toadswirl out and the tom is more than happy to join. It's snowing. And chances of finding usable herbs seem slim. But Limefold insists that they have to try.
They get soaked looking. Toadswirl keeps insisting that they should stop and turn back. Limefold will not give in. None of them find the daisies they're looking for, and yet Limefold will not give up. He's shivering and cold and can hardly move between that and his sore legs. He's getting sorer and less mobile as the patrol goes on. Hor Kai joins in on insisting that they should head back. Limefold is freezing and can hardly protest when the other two finally get him to move. But soon he can't move anymore. Soon, he can't do anything anymore.
The cold takes over Limefold's body and before the other two can get him back to camp, the cat is limp and lifeless in the snow. Limefold has died.
Frustrated, emotional, and tired Toadswirl brings Hor Kai back to camp to report the news. Other cats go to retrieve him and a vigil is held. Limefold is buried next to Crestedspeck. Toadswirl hopes their old mentors are finally at peace together.

Stonestar is inconsolable over the news of Limefold's passing, so Petrifern has to focus on border patrol. This leaves Skyrock to distract the apprentices and lead them through training.
She suggests that this might be a good time to practice their different fighting techniques. The three stay on task well, to Skyrock's surprise, and are able to try new tricks. Burntpaw does especially well and he is praised for his focus and enthusiasm.

Despite Sandtooth's lack of trust for Petrifern, they join her for border patrol as no one else can. The patrol crosses paths with ShimmerClan renewing their markings. Petrifern has a lack of patience or tolerance today and it shows immediately. She is rude and hostile. While it's not commented on, it is definitely noticed. Sandtooth is especially made frustrated by this and they know that ShimmerClan has less trust for them now. They make a mental note to report this to Stonestar.

Frogface and Sablecrust are once again hunting alone together. It's a difficult patrol. They both think that this might be the roughest winter they've ever seen in their short lives. They console one another on the bad hunt, but neither of them blames the other.

Gingerstrata had hoped for a small litter. He had begged StarClan, if he has to endure this, please only give him one or two kits to devote his energy to. StarClan was not listening. On the day of his delivery, four little pale kittens nuzzled to his side. He didn't disclose who the other parent was, but they clearly were not a ShoreClan cat. He named the kits Pricklekit, Oddkit, Shykit, and Wildkit.

The leaf-fall sorenesses and sicknesses are in full effect. Emberpaw is lucky enough to get off with a running nose, but Petrifern caught whitecough. The training patrol is a little disoriented, but Palecore and Skyrock think they can handle the group without Petrifern.
They start to go through the woods to explore the territory. Skyrock has eyes on Emberpaw. Palecore has eyes on Burntpaw. But as they are passing a pile of leaves, they realize no one had eyes on Flamepaw. They walk around the territory for a while in the same area looking for the apprentice and realize how much he blends into the sunset-colored piles of leaves. Eventually they find him, but by the time they do there's not enough time for training before the sun sets.

Limefold is feeling sore, but Toadswirl feels like a short walk might help him. They go somewhere close to collect elder leaves and Limefold does in fact seem to be doing better now that's using his leg a little bit. Toadswirl can't help but laugh at the irony that his old mentor resisted this, but it's helping. And Limefold hates that Toadswirl is laughing at him.

Stonestar leads a border patrol with Sandtooth and Hor Kai. They smell and LyreClan cat nearby. They find a young apprentice who is distraught by how lost he is. The group understands the mistake, but the apprentice does have to be lectured a bit by Stonestar on the importance of border lines.

The day came when Petrifern's litter was to be made apprentices. Unlike parents before, Petrifern felt very particular about who her kits would be mentored by. If Sandtooth hadn't sprained their leg the day before the ceremony, they would've been the first candidate for a mentor. When asked by the deputy for who Sandtooth would recommend, they quickly suggested Skyrock -- arguably, the best teacher in the clan.
Petrifern gathered her kits and looked over them. One by one, she announced their mentors. Flamepaw would be mentored by Petrifern's own past apprentice, Palecore. The playful tom would balance out the severe energy of Flamepaw well, she thought. Petrifern herself would train Burntpaw. She felt a need to keep an eye on him given his recent health complications and gloomy disposition. Emberpaw was the last to be given an assignment and she could hardly sit still while waiting. She can't wait to leave camp. Skyrock is already there waiting, so the moment her named is called, Emberpaw runs up to touch noses with her. Of course, Skyrock will be mentoring Emberpaw.
The apprentices and mentors do their first training session together. They decide to focus on tree-climbing. They all work on climbing one at a time. Perhaps too determined to prove himself, Flamepaw climbs up to a branch that crumbles under his weight. He falls to the ground and his paws get sore.

Limefold's leg is acting up this morning and he feels like an herb-gathering mission might be a bit much for him. He explains this to Toadswirl who needs no further excuse. They feel capable of going on a patrol on their own. They find a bush of red berries and out of an abundance of caution, they turn away. On their way back, they encounter a cat from LyreClan and touch noses with them.

Stonestar took Hor Kai on border patrol. Hor Kai notices some suspicious pawprints in the mud and starts to follow them. After circling around a bit on his own, he meets back up with Stonestar and... Hor Kai realizes they were his own prints. Stonestar is disappointed and Hor Kai is painfully embarrassed.

Greenleaf comes to a close as the leaves change color and fog settles over the shore of the camp. Without any cats injured or ill, things feel like they've settled just a bit. But an energy heightens in the air.
Toadswirl is feeling distressed. Seeing his, Palecore asks Frogface if he can see what's wrong with his brother. He does this and Toadswirl is grateful for his brother's ear. He complains about how difficult his role has been. On top of all of it, Limefold is having trouble getting around camp. In fact, one of the kits tripped too. Frogface listens and together they come up with the idea to create smoother pathways for the clan members to walk on so less accidents happen. It wouldn't help everything, but it would help Limefold.
Palecore and Sablecrust hear about this plan and happily assist. It's a group project that brings the four of them together and assists the whole clan. Emulating the traits of a leader, Frogface praises the team for a job well done and tells them he's lucky to have them as companions.
This revived Sablecrust's hope. He was rejected last moon, but maybe if he's persistent like his brother, things might turn out differently. So he once again goes to Frogface and lets him know that he has feelings for him. Shifting uncomfortably, Frogface once again tells Sablecrust that he does not see him that way and would rather stay friends than become mates. The tom slinks off, rejected.

At the same time... Gingerstrata has started feeling different in a way he can't place. He talks to his parent, Sandtooth, to get some advice. After going over everything they're told, Sandtooth realizes that Gingerstrata must be pregnant. He's shocked by this and didn't realize something like that could happen to him. He thought becoming a tom would have him avoiding this kind of thing completely.
Concerned about his offspring's odd behavior recently, Stonestar asks Gingerstrata how he's doing. When he says he's fine, Stonestar suspects that he's been lied to. But he supposes that sometimes parents can't know everything about their kits. Even though Sandtooth has been caught pacing the camp clearing at night...

After Burntkit healed from his sprain, he started waking up with weird headaches. But he's decided to ignore the nagging pain and play around with his littermates anyway.

There's plenty of room for more herbs in the stores, so Toadswirl says that Limefold and him should go for a patrol together. Though they don't bring an extra warrior with them today. But they quickly feel regret in that because the more Limefold talks, the more he realizes how many herbs they need. Toadswirl insists that it's fine. He's been gathering herbs while Limefold was healing. Somehow, this ended up as a shouting match and no herbs were found at all this moon. When they got back to camp, Toadswirl felt incredibly frustrated about he was being treated and retired to his nest.

Sandtooth and their children, Palecore, Gingerstrata, and Sablecrust, had a productive hunt in the mouse gully.
The border patrol came across LyreClan remarking their border. Skyrock is able to greet everyone and break tension between the two clans. They part ways feeling positive about the interaction.

It was bad enough that Limefold didn't listen to Toadswirl when he advised him to care for his broken bone and to do strength-training while recovering. Limefold feels himself able to be on his feet, but has a limp that looks like it'll be permanent. It's a good thing he doesn't have to join hunting patrols. But when he took his first walk around the territory to get some fresh air, he's attacked by a group of rats. He fights them off, but the bite wounds have him ending up back in resting nests of the medicine cat den. Toadswirl... is so annoyed.
To make matters worse, Hor Kai's itching persists. And now Coalpelt is itching as well. Hor Kai's itching has gotten so bad, that when he comes to the medicine cat den to visit Limefold, both of the medicine cat's notice he has raw, hairless patches.
And it wouldn't be a litter without a kit getting hurt. Burntkit, who cannot sit still for the life of him, was injured one night after chasing fireflies around camp. Petrifern brings him to the medicine cat den like it's a chore. She drops him off for his sprain and tells him to listen to Limefold and do whatever he says. Ignoring that Toadswirl is the one who's well.

Sablecrust and Frogface were on a walk together. They cherish their friendship and have a lot of trust for one another, this was not an uncommon scene. Sablecrust noted that Toadswirl and Palecore are together now. Sablecrust told Frogface... he's actually always has had feelings for him. Frogface paced uncomfortably. He didn't feel the same and isn't currently interested in finding a mate. It hurts to hear, but Sablecrust accepts it. Of course they can still be friends, though.
Later, Sablecrust tells Gingerstrata about the interaction. Gingerstrata confesses that he also tried to become mates with Frogface. He confesses that he would still like that. Despite their shared interest in the tom, they grow closer through this and their jealousy of Palecore.

Stonestar takes Petrifern, Hor Kai, and Skyrock on a border patrol. The spot a badger making a den on LyreClan territory. They approach and, as luck would have it, a LyreClan patrol approaches. Stonestar tells the patrol about the badger and the patrol is grateful. Relations with LyreClan have improved.

Toadswirl is feeling a little eager to be alone with Palecore and gathering herbs is a perfectly acceptable excuse to spend time with his new mate. Since they didn't find lungwort last time, they try again. Palecore jokes that he hopes they find it this time. His paws are still a little sore from their last expedition. They... they don't. And once again they get sore paws from looking around so much. Palecore is a little annoyed by the repetitive taskand wishes they could do something more fun together.

Frogface leads a hunting patrol with Sablecrust, Gingerstrata, and Sandtooth. It's fruitless. And a little awkward.
After recovering from the exertion of giving birth, Petrifern was eager to return to her clan duties. She saw that Hor Kai was itchy and Sandtooth was sure he was itchy because of fleas. She checked every den in camp for fleas or their nests and worked herself hard. But she forgot how hard the sun beats down on ShoreClan territory. In her hubris, she was struck by heat stroke.

Limefold still has a broken bone. Once again, Toadswirl asks Palecore if he will assist on an herb-gathering patrol. There's a quiet tension between them at first. Toadswirl decides they will gather lungwort. He knows that's what Limefold always says they should do, even if he only seems to it while he's thinking of his departed mate. He says as much to Palecore.
Palecore asks if Toadswirl will ever take on a mate. If the right one ever comes along. Toadswirl asks what Palecore means by this. The other tom replies that Toadswirl never speaks about Limefold's feelings about Crestedspeck with respect and he rejected his own romantic advances. So is he even interested in a mate? Toadswirl seems confused by this and tells Palecore that he didn't reject his romantic advances. Have they not been doing chores together and spending time together? Did he not laugh at Palecore's jokes.
Suddenly feeling foolish, Palecore realizes the misunderstanding and once again tells Toadswirl that he would like to be mates with him. And more clearly this time, Toadswirl accepts his feelings. Toadswirl and Palecore are now mates. They're not able to find the lungwort they're looking for, and Palecore's paws are sore. But the two feel more on the same page now.

Ever since they were kits, Gingerstrata and her brothers have been vying for the attention of Toadswirl and Frogface. It almost feels like Palecore is bragging when he and Toadswirl start spending so much time together. Gingerstrata has always fancied him, but never had an opportunity to grow close. So Gingerstrata decides he needs to work harder to impress Frogface.
He takes on more duties, like guarding camp (he falls asleep while guarding camp, but no one needs to know about that). He asks to be on patrol with Frogface. Stonestar agrees to bring them both on border patrol. Lo and behold, another fox is found on the territory. Eager to impress, Gingerstrata rushes at the vixen and makes a bold move at her. She runs off and Stonestar and Frogface are both wildly impressed. It's like a dream. The two run happily around him. Gingerstrata feels self-satisfied.

The rest of the cats-- Sandtooth, Hor Kai, Sablecrust, and Skyrock -- all go hunting despite the brutal heat of greenleaf. Sandtooth wants to turn back since Petrifern already got heat stroke recently, but they decide to power on. It's an exhausting hunt, but they take breaks and end up successful. They all feel good about the work they've done on this day.
Toadswirl continues to take Palecore out on a patrol with him since Limefold's broken bone has yet to heal. On one patrol, Palecore confesses to Toadswirl that he has feelings for him. He really thought the medicine cat would feel the same, but Toadswirl rejects him. And it really hurt Palecore's feelings. Despite this, Palecore continues to go on herb gathering patrols. But when Toadswirl laughs at him over simple things, it frustrates Palecore now. It doesn't feel like they're both playing together anymore.
Feeling the way the energy has changed between them, Toadswirl wonders what will change about being a medicine cat as he gets older. He hopes no one else will get sick or hurt because it would be overwhelming to care for the whole clan on his own. Around that time, Burntkit comes over with a bunch of flowers for him. Hoping to bolster the herb stores... Toadswirl wonders if he will eventually be taking an apprentice.

Petrifern is finally feeling like herself again after giving birth and she's eager to get away from her kits. Emberkit hasn't been getting along with her brothers and while it's rewarding to comfort a kit and be looked up, Petrifern wants a break. She leaves the kits with Coalpelt and goes on border patrol.
The patrol includes Petrifern, Stonestar, Frogface, and Gingerstrata. They catch the scent of a fox. When will these foxes leave their territory alone? Luckily, Frogface made some brilliant tactile moves and was able to scare the grey vixen they found away from the territory. The entire patrol is impressed and celebrates him.

Sandtooth, Sablecrust, Skyrock, and Hor Kai go on a hunting patrol together, but none of them are exactly enthused to do this. So Sablecrust suggests that they all have a friendly hunting competition. They compete and feel motivated to surpass one another. The team has a lot of fun and everyone brings back an impressive amount of fresh kill.
Coalpelt woke up this moon and felt a deep ache in her bones. Something inside of her couldn't do another hunt. She was slow, she'd been lagging behind. She was ready to retire. She established the elder nest in ShoreClan.

Limefold went on a long walk to think about life and the clan. He thought about himself as a mentor and medicine cat and hoped he was doing a good job for Crestedspeck. For himself. Lost in thought, he wasn't paying attention and took a nasty fall. A fall so nasty, in fact, that he couldn't stand on all four of his paws again. And he was stranded somewhere on the territory.
Toadswirl was in the middle of a nap back at camp and heard *something* in his dream. A sign that told him to check by a large drop-off. Knowing one should always listen to dreams, Toadswirl immediately went there when he woke and was shocked to find Limefold with a broken bone. He carried the other medicine cat back to camp and told him of his dream. Limefold was sure Crestedspeck was still watching out for him even in StarClan.

Since Limefold is unable to gather herbs, Toadswirl enlists his friend, Palecore, to go on a patrol with him. They grew up together and have been friends since kithood. But with their different positions, they never get to work together. Where Toadswirl had grown to be a bit grumpy and serious, Palecore never let his playfulness die. Except... today, Palecore was quiet on their walk. Toadswirl couldn't help but ask why. When prompted, Palecore said that he was worried about what legacy he'll leave behind in ShoreClan once StarClan calls upon him.
As they gathered herbs, Toadswirl was quick to tell Palecore that his legacy would continue on even in StarClan. It was never too late to make an impact. He shared that even today, Crestedspeck in StarClan made an impact on his life. He was sure Palecore's legacy would shine brighter than any star. Palecore was immensely comforted by this. He didn't realize the grumpy medicine cat had that profound knowledge in him.
Sandtooth brings Hor Kai, Sablecrust, and Gingerstrata on a hunting patrol. Gingerstrata is excited to suggest a little sheltered gully where mice have frequented. But it turns out to be a bad lead. It wastes the whole hunting party's time. Especially with how much he insists it's a good spot. Thanks for nothing, Gingerstrata.

After Sunbeam's run-in with Gluttony, the Clan expects they'll make a quick recovery in the medicine cat den. They think they won't be off their feet for that long. Limefold is even flippant when Skyrock worries about the time it's taking for her mate to heal. It comes as a complete surprise when one morning, Sunbeam doesn't wake up.
Skyrock stays by Sunbeam's side all day, as if this is a mistake. Sunbeam is going to wake up, she keeps insisting. But Toadswirl knows. They have the same limp look as Crestedspeck did back then. Sunbeam is dead.
A vigil is held for them and they laid to rest near Crestedspeck. A small graveyard building on the ShoreClan territory. Somewhere the Old Clan's mountain can look over then. Where StarClan has a clear view. Clanmates share stories of all the things Sunbeam did in their short life. Those who knew them are saddened by this huge loss.
With a fit of anger, a patrol is put together to chase the rogue responsible far, far away from this place. Gluttony is found by the patrol and it is assured that she will never be seen again. Skyrock says that if she had been there, Gluttony would be dead.

Petrifern's litter comes. She has no interest in telling anyone who the father was. She welcomes three kits in and is restless watching them stumble around blindly. They all definitely look like her kits. She names them Flamekit, Burntkit, and Emberkit.

While the clan was still on edge, a strange rogue came stumbling in and asked for a place to stay while he nursed his wounds. Despite the tension, they let Stream stay for a few nights until he felt better.

Hor Kai has been spending a lot of time at the medicine cat den with Limefold. He is always curious about the practices. Or maybe he's just interested in Limefold. Either way, he's allowed to go on an herb gathering patrol with the medicine cats. The three cats had a light-hearted and cheerful time gathering burdock root and plantain. Even though it took most of the day, the time passed quickly when spent in light spirits. Toadswirl is under the impression that Hor Kai cheered Limefold up from his regular dreariness.
Stonestar goes on border patrol with Skyrock, Frogface, and Sablecrust. Both of his previous apprentices as well as Sunbeam's. While they don't find any rogues, they do find a vixen. The team drives it off, but it's mostly thanks to a clever move Frogface makes at a critical moment. The entire group is impressed and his praises are sung throughout the camp when they return.
Sandtooth goes hunting with their mate, Coalpelt, and their children Gingerstrata and Palecore. Gingerstrata finds a rabbit burrow and it pays huge dividends to the hunting party.
Despite the deep tragedy of this moon, it is also a prosperous start to newleaf.

Since Crestedspeck died, Limefold has held onto her memory deeply. He has referred to her as his mate, even as she resides in StarClan. But something changed this moon. He knows he will always love her, but he has decided to move on.

Newleaf seems to have made the rogues in the area a bit more bold. During a recent patrol, ShoreClan finally saw the tracks of a cat that they had been warned about many moons ago: Floatpelt. Though on the patrol, their tracks seemed to be heading away. Meaning, the cat didn't mean to intrude on their territory. Curious.
During a patrol Sunbeam was doing, they ran into a different trespassing rogue and got into a skirmish. Sunbeam was able to drive Gluttony away, but they had to be rushed to the medicine cat den immediately. Gingerstrata recognized the name from when he was younger. The clan decides to chase this rogue off the territory.

Begrudgingly, Petrifern decides to move to the nursery. She hopes for a small litter of kits. The clan doesn't need too many more mouths to feed and she doesn't want to be babysitting that many kits.

Skyock, Sandtooth, Palecore, and Gingerstrata were assigned to border patrol. Palecore noticed some paw tracks in the mud and insisted the the team follow them... just for them to end up being Palecore's own pawprints... embarrassing.
Coalpelt, Sablecrust, Hor Kai, and Frogface go on hunting patrol in a sheltered gully. It's a satisfying hunt together that brings them all closer together.
After months of being afraid to confront my dad, the team finally faced off against Norman! And hey, Stardew evolved!
The fight was going really well! We opened with Pixie who handily took down Dad's Spinda. Slaking came next and... that was kind of where we hit a snag. Because in a sudden strike, Slaking KO'd Stardew.
After this, I did a lot of switching between Pokemon to make sure Slaking didn't put anyone to sleep with yawn. We were able to paralyze him and get him down. After that, the other two went down fairly easily.
I didn't have a lot of time to grow attached to Stardew, but I feel like I let him down. Fortunately, I need a water type to utilize the new HM that Norman just gave us: Surf! So immediately, it was time to go fishing in Petalburg City.
I was kind of hoping to get a marril. But I only have a Good Rod at this point so the odds were kind of low. And of course, I caught a magikarp. So meet Joyce.
I think a gyarados will be a wonderful asset to our team though. So I'm not too mad. I'm excited to be making more progress on this run again,especially since Norman is out of the way. I don't know why he always scares me so much.
As a note for myself, I'm waiting to evolve Pixie the Pikachu until she learns Thunder -- or until I find the TM for it. That's level 58. So we still have a long way to go. Pixie. Survive.
I think the next part of the journey is Fortree City and fighting Winona!
