No thoughts, just a bunch of wenzhou kisses!
Another Tears of the Kingdom piece :D The sky, the land, the depths, it's all very cool!!
TYK chapter 49 mini-comic More thoughts below!
Qin Huaizhang and his pupils! I always love thinking a lot about Siji manor and how it was, how it started, etc. I really wanted to make an illustration reflecting a nostalgia of these times. More Siji manor rambling below >>>
Moshang Nendoroid! Moshang Nendoroid! Moshang Nendoroid!!!
They’re finally done and I’m so proud of how they turned out! Thank you to @veskara for giving me both the inspiration and encouragement to make them! I see now why you don’t do commissions lol, but also getting to make them myself was a really fun experience and I’m super glad I did it! I won’t be doing it again any time soon (read not until I forget how much work it was and get sucked down the passion well again), but it was still 100% worth it. Now they can hang out with my official figures and all be friends!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG? They turned out sooooooo good.
Such great work 😍😍😍
happy late valentine’s day also pls forgive this 🤡 for your 1-year-late-requests🥹💕😔🤟

Hi. Extremely, extremely fine if the answer is no, but I noticed some of your custom Nendoroids (specifically Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun) and I was wondering if you ever took commissions to make some for people (specifically those 2 for me). I'm very willing to work out a price you feel is fair and wait however long it would take you to make them.
If not, do you mind if I ask how you go about making yours? I can't pretend I have the level of artistic talent you do, but if the task doesn't seem horribly daunting, I might try my hand. I simply adore what you made and now that I've seen them, my passionate desire to own something similar is strong!
Hi :) It makes me happy to know how much you like them. Thank you :) Unfortunately I can't offer commissions for these Nendos. Custom parts of them are made with air drying clay and are very fragil and especially thin and small parts break easily if you are not careful. So I see no way to ship them in any way without the risk of broken parts. The costs are also quite impossible to calculate or tell beforehand. It depends on how many nendoroid parts I can reuse, how much I would have to order, are there cheaper bootlegs out there with matching parts or would I need to buy an original Nendo, ... I always tried to search for Nendoroid parts which looked as close to the ones I wanted to create as possible. (Like... I want long hair, so I look for long hair, I want long sleeves, I look for long sleeves, etc) The closer the parts are, the less work I have to do. So my custom Nendos have parts of several different Nendos. I mostly ordered cheap bootlegs and once they arrived I can take the parts I need, remove the paint with nail polish remover, cut things off and/or add things with my clay, sand it down (or carve it down when you are careful) and paint the parts in the colors I need. For smaller details I reuse small ornaments that I could cut off of other Nendo parts etc. The most difficult part is to simply start :) Once you did the first cuts and/or tried to add things you start to get a feeling for how to do things, get familiar with the material and with time you get more creative what you can reuse. Superglue and a cutter knife are your best friends for these projects. ^^
Totally fair and understandable. It absolutely sounds like a process, but maybe something to start researching myself. I really appreciate the steps and advice. It would be absurdly cool to have some little guys of my own and maybe you’ll be my inspiration to make some. If I do, I’ll be sure to tag you on them and shout you out. Your work is incredible and clearly a labor of love!
Please do so, I'm excited to see your results :) And thank you again for your words <3
Happy Valentine's day, tumblr! I'm still dying over ZZS having to interrupt WKX to kiss him.

Wife Wen and Husband Zhou! Recently posted on twt. I have other stuff piled up but somehow (as it may be obvious...) I don't really feel like posting, for some reason. The concept was to make beautiful, sexy-ish portrait of each through the other's eyes. When I paint a character, especially a portrait, I like doing so considering who is gazing at them, and who, if anyone, they are gazing at. It is one of the reason I do more portraits or single illustrations of Wen Kexing, because he is generally more gazed at than Zhou Zishu is --or so I consider. ZZS supposedly hides a lot, is either masked or in the shadows, so aside from WKX himself, or maybe GX, LJX or ZCL, there aren't many people looking at him.
I like to consider the shifts in perspective, in focus, depending on the eyes through which I would look at the character I paint. It also allows me to avoid falling into a gaze that reflects my own too much, thus turning the subject into a character rather than a person that is interactable with. I can also hereby avoid being a bit too edgy in my representations, I feel. Here, ZZS is looking at WKX, who is gazing back, and vice-versa. Their expressions could probably never be the same with anyone else. The openness, what they allow to be seen, either.
Back to the human world
I have many thoughts and feels regarding what happens after Zhou Zishu has come to rescue Wen Kexing ("gather his corpse") after the battle on Mt. Fengya..... Zhou Zishu, healthier after having taken Da Wu's medicine for 3 months, now, has been tailing the scorpions for a while, too. Infiltrated them. He's the closest to his peak that he has been in years. And Wen Kexing, who is now free, unburdened, so close to dying... And they each have one question for each other.
"He [Zhou Zishu] looked at Wen Kexing in the eyes, and said : 'I'm asking you. Do you want to live?' Wen Kexing silently looked back at him for a long, long time, then answered : 'Will... will you leave me?'"
他看着温客行的眼睛道:“我问你,你想不想活?” 温客行沉默地看着他,良久良久,问道:“你……会走么?”
They will both live, and they will both stay. Wen Kexing is then brought back into the light, to the human world. The fragility in that scene, in the both of them. How I'm also convinced that when Wen Kexing sees Zhou Zishu arrive, fight, and then come to him, when he says his famous "There's a light on you" ('你身上有光') line, he pretty much falls in love all over again. How later, then, he tells Zhou Zishu how the one thing capable to defeat a ghost is the human heart... (Gu Xiang's, Zhou Zishu's, Zhang Chengling's, his own...) So much!! In that scene!!! I wish I can one day do way more than a few illustrations and concept arts. I wish I could do so much more to translate just how much I adore this ending (granted, what comes after is a bit rushed-- BUT! That leaves SO much space to imagine how then Zhou Zishu has taken care of Wen Kexing while he was recovering, and the following journey to Mt. Changming.... SO MUCH!! TO IMAGINE!! AND CREATE!!!) Here are a few additional designs :
What I imagine Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu look like at Mt Fengya. Wen Kexing, in his "dark red" Ghost Valley Master robes. The sword... actually isn't there, but I liked the look. And then, Zhou Zishu, disguised as a scorpion. He kinda looks like a sith, but I really like that haha. His cheeks and frame are fuller, because I consider that on top of having been taking the meds for 3 months now, he has also been preparing for the surgery (so he's been eating more and better).
Following an idea from Bichen, I imagine the tree Wen Kexing sits under to be a giant willow tree (among other willow trees). The scorpion confrontation happens while the sun is rising. Also, isn't it poetic that it is under a <willow tree> when Zhou "Xu"'s name means willow catkin? I just really like that.
That's it for now. I'm certainly not done with this whole passage, but... Yeah. So much to do!!! So little time!!!
