I keep hoping that part of the reason for having Lucy meet Rodriguez in s2, was to set up a deeper relationship between them in season 3. I feel like she'd be the perfect character to serve as a "mentor" for Lucy after both Hank and the Ghoul. She'd offer Lucy a much needed third perspective on the wasteland.

Hank gave her the Enclave's vision: (the wastelanders are too violent to rule themselves and needs to be controlled)

The Ghoul gave her his hopeless and entropic vision: (the law of the jungle, the idea that humanity is simply doomed to decay)

And Rodriguez would give her the NCR's vision: (the idea that wastelanders can in fact rebuild society)

Also: please for the love of god just let Lucy have a relationship with a woman, oh my god, can we please see her have a relationship with someone who isn't Hank, Max or Cooper, because it's driving me a bit insane at this point. Please let Lucy form a meaningful multi-season relationship with another woman.

I love that The Ghoul isn’t an untouchable badass. He’s more than capable but he can still get the shit kicked out of him in the most ridiculous ways.

Our crusty boy clearly put points into his luck stat. Maximus gets his foot stuck in floorboards. Captain Rodriguez steps in when the NCR Ranger has him under his boot. He can’t get out of every situation with skill and swagger alone.

He can shoot down a whole gang by himself but we still get reminded now and again that he’s still flesh and blood.

It's so painful that we're not getting any new Fallout games for at least another 5 years, when the hype for the series is at all times high. Every day I curse Bethesda for working on Fallout 76 and Starfield back to back instead of TES6 and Fallout 5.

MAX FALLOUT STAYS ON TOP ‼️

I feel like focusing too much on hype moments and game callbacks instead of deeper character/plot moments really hurt this season the most(along with juggling too many plots)

The Novac and the Kings scenes are good examples of this. They serve very little purpose in terms of developing the Ghoul and Lucy's characters, and instead mainly serve as "remember the thing from the game?". It's precious screentime that should have been used on more in-depth plot and character moments.

I really hope they have learned from this come season 3, or there will be no Emmy's for the writers or actors in s3 either.

Maybe if they focused more on Max this season instead of things like the Vault Incest Club subplot and the Ghoul aurafarming in Novac, they might have won something for the writing/plot and characters/actors. 🥴

I'm really on my hands and knees begging that we get some new POC characters with the NCR to play series regulars as well, because right now, I'm pretty sure Max is the only POC among the series regulars. 🫠 (and we all know how he's treated)

Not sure if Barb is considered a regular since she's pre-war only, but even if she is, it's not looking that much better. The list still feels really "the white cast and the two token black characters". Really praying for the inclusion of some new non-white series regulars, or for someone new to replace at least one of them(Hank)

A little video showing off the now-completed Anti-Materiel Rifle prop for my NCR Ranger cosplay. It's so big that it's hard to get a photo of the whole thing that really captures the details, but the video gets the overall impression a lot better.

My shop assistant, Mesa, also gave it his paw of approval.

And, with any luck, it'll make its first public appearance at the Fallout Faction Games at the Pioneer Saloon later this month (I'm planning on going, depending on the weather).

A little about the build under the cut:

This was 3D printed out of PLA, using the files from @galacticarmory

The barrel is stabilized using a 1/2" wooden rod. The stock and receiver are stabilized using a 1/4" stainless steel rod (a wooden rod was just too bendy, but the steel rod gave it a little weight and made it better balanced, as well as stronger and stiffer.)

The lenses on the 'scope' were made out of clear PETG using a homemade vacuum-former box, which I built myself out of scrap wood and a shop vac. I made the vacuum-former lens bucks from the included stl files, printed out of ABS at a very slight downscale, then coated with filler primer and sanded smooth.

The 'faux wood' was achieved using a base layer of glazing putty mixed with acetone, then brushed on to give a wood-like texture, then a basecoat of Rustoleum Satin French Truffle, then painted with Minwax Dark Walnut oil woodstain, and sealed with Rustoleum Dead Flat clear coat. The weathering was handpainted using dry-brushed acrylics.

The rest was painted with a basecoat of various Rustoleum spray paints (soft flat iron, aluminum, gunmetal, flat black), then airbrushed with Alclad chrome/steel, and highlighted with Rub & Buff pewter wax paint. Then weathered with acrylics, using various techniques.
