I. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

basic writing etiquette applies. i have a zero-tolerance policy on any kind of bigotry and/or petty drama. my activity fluctuates but that's not indicative of my interest, i'm just chronically and mentally ill. if i follow you, i want to write with you. this blog is going to be super low effort on the aesthetics side of things. i want to focus more on creating and enriching dynamics. there is a ridiculous amount of canon-bending here, so keep that in mind when interacting.

on duplicates: i don't have duplicate anxiety and i don't mind being mutuals with duplicates, but i will rarely follow first. if i catch anyone being nasty to their duplicates, it's a hard block on sight. go touch some grass. i don't consider PC characters of the same origin from video games as "duplicates". familial dynamics are entirely on the table here and tbh i am a sucker for those, so feel free to hit me up about it!

on interaction/plotting: ask prompts are the best way to get something started. i prefer pre-established dynamics and might eventually come to you to plot if our writing styles mesh together. please be willing to work with me. also, i love shipping! ships will feature heavily on this blog and i will be unabashed about it! if that's not your thing, don't follow. :)

mains / ship exclusives / affiliates: i'm more than happy to deepen dynamics by having go-to interpretations of certain characters. for mains, two of the same canon muse is my upper limit. ship exclusivity is expected from shipping partners once the bond develops beyond the plotting stage and into something more robust. comfort and chemistry are naturally required. affiliates mean exclusivity AND deeper plotting + conversations, since i take this to mean that elements of our portrayals are entwined with each other.

on blocking/soft-blocking: it is never anything personal. i just want to curate my space and i don't want to accidentally follow people who i can't see myself interacting with or who i had negative interactions with in the past. i encourage you to curate your space as well. be safe and be kind to yourself.

do not interact: if you use generative AI in your writing or graphics, if you are a habitual vague-blogger, if you dislike OCs and/or female muses, if you are a personal / non-rp blog and/or if you write primarily in the harry potter, riverdale, stranger things, acotar, fourth wing, and/or the boys fandoms. breaching this boundary will result in a hard block.

on dragon age: as a chinese-filipino writer who loves the franchise ( despite the horrors ) please note that i may be coming from a perspective outside the eurocentric lens the series is written in. a lot of thedas' politics and struggles are filtered through a white person's POV and while i don't think that's entirely without value, i may interpret and approach things differently.

additional note: i have really bad memory issues due to a childhood injury along with the side-effects of supportive medications for my chronic illness. please keep this in mind when interacting with me. if you soft-blocked me, there might be a chance that i re-follow you on accident. if you don't want this happening, your best bet is to hard-block me when breaking mutuals.

pulling up to the joint thinking about the soft power of houses stark and tyrell, and how taking them down through sheer brute and military force is never going to *cleanly* work. think about it: the tyrells cultivate affection horizontally through society, and the starks vertically through generations.

people like cersei and ramsay fundamentally misunderstood or refused to give proper weight to both bc they almost exclusively interpret power through domination, fear, and humiliation.

margaery's food distribution? statecraft. the phrase "the north remembers" is perhaps, the purest expression of the stark's soft power, stemming from mutual obligation and collective memory. i think both houses are a great example of power being sustained socially before it is / can be sustained militarily.

anyway, i didn't know where i was going with this other than um. i miss lyanna stark, i am always thinking about her. she's also both a brute force and a soft power kinda guy, if you think about it. so basically, she's the goat.

i remember vividly the first time the idea of yesha having a twin came to me. it was around halloween of 2024 when i finished my second audibook listen of stephen king's pet cemetery. rachel, louis creed's ( the narrator / focal character ) wife, had a sister named zelda who was afflicted by spinal meningitis. her deformity and pain became the ghost that haunted her family, and rachel harbored incredible amounts of guilt and shame because of it.

i thought about how complicated that was, as a dynamic, not only from rachel's point of view but from zelda's as well. how painful it must be for your own family to shun you, for you to see your sister thriving and living a life that you simply could not have, on account of your illness.

but i didn't want to alienate zelda the way the 1989 movie did. so when i created yavanna, i made sure she was human. i made sure yesha loved her, and didn't begrudge her her circumstances. i made sure yavanna had a sister who wasn't ashamed of her, who would walk to the ends of the earth just to care for her, to make her life more bearable. and even if yavanna had moments of anger and envy, she had moments of love, too.

consequently, i made sure not to invalidate yesha's feelings, her hard work, the mixed emotions that yavanna's passing evoked in her. grief is... difficult to grapple with and rarely straightforward. yesha dedicated much of her early life to her sister, due to circumstances outside of her control. she put her life on pause to make sure yavanna is cared and provided for. the relief she felt at finally being free of her caretaker role doesn't make her a bad sister, doesn't mean she loved yavanna less. it just makes her unequivocally human.

a lot of clowning happening on this blog since i returned but i want to say that that is because i am... significantly more comfortable here now than i was a few months ago. mostly it was bc of the string of unfortunate things happening in my life then, which really put a damper on my general disposition, but also bc i was putting a lot of pressure on myself to be palatable even when i wasn't feeling my best. i think we really owe it to ourselves sometimes, esp as creatives, to give ourselves a break and just let ourselves be. ik sometimes *i* feel like i have an audience to cater to which in hindsight is the wrong way to go about it bc i'm supposed to be around collaborators, and therefore, equals. the only audience i should target is myself and my whimsy and whichever direction it asks me to take it.
