Helloooo, I read ur tags on the Cartman and chef post, who is it that you refer to being more Cartman dad coded? I'm very curious :3c

wow answering this years later, but it’s Jimbo! though “dad-coded” is rather misleading. The show’s put him in places where the narrative calls for a father figure in scenes like the parents gawking at what the kids are doing (ladder to heaven) or teaching Cartman what he knows now abt revenge (scott tenorman ep), and part of the ensemble of adults praising Cartman during dikinbaus. And more recently, a literal stand in father figure for the Help My Teenager episode. It’s enough to make me wonder why a dynamic between them hasn’t been explored, but i’m reminded that Jimbo’s flat ch n type of humor thrived in the earlier seasons. Plus, the show’s become domesticated and doesn’t mesh with Jimbo’s rugged colorado small town background.

Still, he’s put in the position consistently enough that I daydream abt what a Cartman and Jimbo team up would look like. I don’t think Cartman would ever view him as a father figure the way he did Chef but this kid needs a healthy(?) sp male figure so. Maybe Jimbo giving his limited outdoorsey wisdom and Cartman twisting it to whatever scheme benefits him- not unlike the tenorman ep, which we still talk abt today!

You know what I find funny ? The fact that Cartman keeps on manipulating Kyle and he keeps on falling for it times

Even though he of all people should know better by now.

What's even funnier is that Cartman genuinely doesn't see anything wrong with what he is doing.

He does understand from a moral standpoint that it's bad, of course—but he doesn't care as long as he gets what he wants.

That's why we never see him actually regret his actions unless it directly affects him negatively. (e.g, getting punished, suffering the consequences)

Thought, It does make one wonder if Cartman ever feels bad for deceiving Kyle, with the little amount of empathy he has.

Probably not since Kyle will just forgive him before long. He always does.
