TWISTED NERVE (a mix dedicated to judith)

You think you are possessing me— But I’ve got my teeth in you.
Angela Carter, excerpt of Unicorn (via antigonick)
KILIAN TADEJ / THE RINGMASTER
A trick of the light casts his long shadow into puppet strings and feathers. There is something wholly weird about the three-ring idol standing before the audience, and it has nothing to do with the dark obsidian of his hair or the fever-slick smirk about his eyes. Sticky-sweet and ingratiating like woven cotton candy, what lies in him is a tenacious, suckling terror beneath a gossamer web of silver stars.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and...ghouls— Be heartlessly welcome to the greatest show—greatest show on earth! I am the voice of Wonderland— Your host, your ticket taker and marshal of dreams, To guide you through snow-bed stories under moonlit gleam, A way to taste the nocturnal sky, the elusive high, Into a dream midwinter, all thy kingdom in cinder, Follow the madness, down the rabbit hole, Alice you know once did!“
KILIAN TADEJ / 35+ / ringmaster / astral courtless / thought + illusion
Curious things happen when one is offered a ripe apple.
It had lain in the devil’s strewn hand, politely tendered, coruscating with traitors’ blood. A substantial, comforting clout, with shiny red flesh and a sweetly, soothsaying fragrance beneath the surface. A fruit of knowledge; of good and evil; of contingency and poisonous deception. A forbidden treat, the likes of which good girls and boys had been warned about.
Eat me.
It winks a newly polished glint against a velvet waistcoat.
Drink me.
Another apple, another temptation. A single bubble of inscrutable nectar.
It’s only polite to sup such a generous fare—to never waste what precious sustenance is given.
“Eat. Drink. Dine from the orchard of light and eventide flowers, and you will find a sky so full of stars it will blind you again. Hold your breath. Close your eyes and count to three. The stars will grant your every whimsical desire to life—go on, have a bite.”
Persuasion is a delicious red fruit, and the devil-man extracts sweet ambrosia with an answering grin as wide and white as the rising moon. With one bite the weary of reality is replaced by an illusory enchantment, glinting like firefly nail polish and rising in white-fairytale clusters and constellations. Stars. Galaxies. Infinities of cosmoses far beyond the periphery of knowability, where mavericks rule and darkness waits. And there— just there— dressed in the shimmering rips and velvet gossamer of midnight astral is the Pied Piper himself.
Listen carefully to the snickering wind, and hear those gentle strains of the piper’s play.
“Nothing to be a’feard, my child. Pass the knap of the hill, your white chariot waits to take thee to dreamland.”
The words are nothing short from the bite of fruit between his lips: refreshing and sweet, filtering a thick, delicious juice of irony. He offers a proverbial harvest to the new ilk, urging them to savor the flavor. Though it hardly seems fair; wayward children could never be able to fully appreciate the gesture— would never be able to name the strangest of sugars that quell his tongue. For how could a bewitched soul be expected to know of a contract that’s been signed and sealed before they could even break the sallow skin of a mere apple?
Off you be, now, sweetling. The chariot’s ready.

“The darkness is calling. A little danger, a little risk. Feel your heart race. Listen to it. That’s the sound of being alive. It’s your time, Nick. Your one chance to have fun before it’s all stolen by them, the adults, with their cruelty and endless rules, their can’t-do-this, and can’t-do-that’s, their have-tos, and better-dos, their little boxes and cages all designed to break your spirit, to kill your magic.” ― Brom, The Child Thief

Describe yourself: I am a 26 (going on 27) year-old art history enthusiast, who just obtained her Masters degree in Studio Art and doesn’t know what to do following education terminus. Other facts about me: I work in da food industry as a recently promoted Server (former Food Rockstar™); I do all the Arts, in which I love the magical physicality of pure, unadulterated paint; I have a habit to mindlessly wander large cities and museums.....and to occasionally stop whatever I am doing to admire a beautiful coated doge. Also, I am a twin on the internet (and said twin is mah gorl Irene!!!!) Otherwise I become a blanket burrito at the end of the day cos being bushwhacked by American Politicks is tiresome.
Favourite fairytales/characters/tropes?: I’m with Irene - I love Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Hans Christian Andersen‘s ‘The Little Mermaid’, and de Villeneuve‘s ‘Beauty and the Beast’. I also enjoy analyzing Bluebeard, Peter Pan, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, and Pinocchio. As for tropes, I have a fondness for (and often use for character ideas/plots!!) ‘Be careful What You Wish For’, ‘The Big Bad Wolf’, ‘Don’t Go in the Woods’, and ‘Abduction is Love’. Basically I almost always play the Raunchy & Villainous so u been warned frands~!
What are you most excited for?: echo chamber EVERYTHANG!
A gif to describe yourself:
