Wildfires in northern Ontario force First Nations to flee

Several wildfires are forcing members of a number of First Nations to flee their homes in northern Ontario.

“I had time to run home and pack a bag and get to the beach where the boats were waiting,” said a member of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins). “We literally had minutes to get on the boats and flee before it took our town. “Once we left my house finally after packing what I could in a pack sack, the fire was right behind our place. We had to run to the beach and once we got there, it was only moments before the fire had jumped over the (train) track and was coming for us.”

As I sit here, typing this I cannot help but ponder...

...about ceratin things. Maybe it is my autistic brain having a million thoughts running through it all at once. I like to describe my mind and thoughts as a highway. The highway is in a permanent traffic jam and each one of my thoughts is a car. it ranges from massive Hummers to Volkswagen Beetles.

I think things like

Why do certain websites have the name they do? Like why is Facebook called Facebook. The face part I get but the book part I do not.

Sometimes it can be something fleeting to never return to my mind again

"I wonder what's for dinner"

"Can dogs understand me?"

So many thoughts run in my head that sometimes I forget what I am supposed to actually do. (My ADHD in full effect)

Then I also think about the past alot. About things I could've done differently. How I can better improve myself? Then come the intrusive and mean thoughts. Thos thoughts I picture as two mean goblin brothers named Hugin and Munin. Hugin despite being 6 foot tall is the younger brother and Munin who is 5 feet tall is the olders. Hugin is fat and semi-bald and wears nothing but a loin cloth and som furry boots. He wields a giant wooden club he uses to beat my good thoughts into submission. Munin is slimmer, has his hair done in a red spiky mohawk and wears a loin cloth, a smelly old leather vest and some furry boots.

They whisper mean things to me I know aren't true. On good days I say "No that is a lie" but on bad days I just let them go on with my life.

I noticed that visualizing the bad thoughts as these mean goblin brothers kinda helped me heal in a strange and odd way. In conclusion, a lot of things are running through my head at this moment in time and I am strangely ok with it.

Anya: -looks around Heaven, terrified out of her freaking mind- W-where am I?

Anya: Oh...right...I forgot...God was I selfish for doing what I did?

God: Oh my child...no you weren't selfish at all

Anya: But how? I..my friends offered me help..and I took the easy way out. Surely that is selfish?

God: My child, when you have suffered as much as you have I can understand that it feels like there is no other way....I am not that kind of deity to turn the other cheek when a lost soul needs help

Anya: with tears in her eyes: I....it hurt so much God, what he did to me...seeing all my friends suffer without any way to help them. It was too much to bear

God: I understand my child but here, you are safe. Nothing nor no one will cause you harm. You can rest easy now.

Later.....

Death: -sips tea- My job never gets easier

God: I understand that my friend but you made sure she suffered no more

Death: I could feel her pain as her soul exited her body...man...sometimes I wish i was not Death y'know

God: believe me, i understand that more than everything...but if it is of any consolation...you did well

Death: Thanks God

God: No problem

Controversial take: I did not like the Racing Bulls Miami Livery

I know they were going for a tie dye aesthetic which worked on the race suits and the crew shirts but the livery itself...I am sorry but it looked like fluorescent pee stains. I am sorry but it did. No disrespect to VCARB. I love them but..yikes
