“Alright. My entire right arm has fallen asleep. I can’t feel my fingers at all. It’s been thirty minutes. My arm is like a noodle. Should I be concerned about this?”

“Oh dear… Maybe try moving it around?”

“Yes I have. It sort of feels like pins and needles when I do that so I’ve kinda stopped doing that. For right now at least.”

“Pins and needles means the feeling is coming back to your arm, doesn’t it? It’s all the little nerves waking up. Is there anything I can do?” Charlie pressed a finger to her lip curiously. She was a magician’s assistant, not a nurse, but she felt it only right to offer.

Huh. He didn’t think that pain would mean his arm was waking up. Moving his arm again the young man winced and immediately stopped that. “No. No I think I’m good. I mean. I just have to keep moving my arm. Then it won’t be a painful noodle any more” he said smiling a little.

Just how did this young gentleman managed to injure his arm so badly? It was certainly strange. In fact, everything about him was a strange. His white coat suggested a doctor or scientist of some kind.

“I didn’t catch your name,” She said, concerned and a little wary of him. “I’m Charlie.”

Victor moved his arm again wincing a little bit more but kept at it to make his arm wake up faster. Hearing the question he looked back over at her. Seeing his right arm was out of commission right now he extended his left hand in kind of an awkward manner.

“Ah my name is Victor. Nice to meet you, Charlie.”
