Reason 115 why Finland is cooler than you: We have alpaca agility competitions.
Why the heck are there alpacas in Finland.
So we can do agility with them. Obviously.

Eowyn wearing a traditional Karelian dress, which was made by my grandmother in the design of her hometown! Though I added some things. I always thought she would fit with the dress well.
In case you didn’t know, Finnish-Karelian national epic Kalevala was a big inspiration for Tolkien!

Finnish genetics will never not make me laugh (images from google, can’t find the sources since these were saved on my computer a long time ago)
first when they’re compared to other Europeans (the closer the colours are the more similarities they have)
you could almost say Finns have personal space in their DNA
and my all time favourite
People from Germany and Great Britain are more closely related than Finns from west and Finns from East
because seriously why would you want to go to the other side of the country in the East you’ll be close to Russia and in the West there are people who speak Swedish
SWEDISH
eww
here’s another one (x)
Helsinki is in the South coast and Kuusamo is up north close to Russian border
Also see how our Estonian bros are reaching for Helsinki genes like “brooo we’re here” and Sweden well Sweden looks like a tiny dick just like on the map and it’s clearly taking a piss on Helsinki
and here’s one with a map of Europe too
Britain knows nothing about splendid isolation
I mean seriously Finns are the adopted alien cousin in family of Europe

Ojibwe and Finns shared values, persecution and often intermarried One culture had the sauna; the other had the sweat lodge.
Many Finnish immigrants in the United States intermarried with people of the Native Ojibwe Tribe due to circumstance as well as cultural similarities. This has resulted in the creation of a new ethnic group who refer to themselves as ‘Finndians’.
I recommend reading the entire article (it’s not too long), but here are selected bits:
In the late 1800s, both the immigrant Finnish population and the native Ojibwe people of northern Minnesota had strong storytelling traditions, and both put great stock in communal living. Both cultures also faced persecution and degradation. - - “When the Finns arrived in Minnesota in the late 1800s, they came at a time when the Anishinabe were just put onto the reservations,” Jaakola said. - -
Both peoples had learned to thrive in similar environments.
The two cultures also shared reserved personalities and the tendency to avoid conflict, Jaakola said, as well as a history of being pushed out of their homeland. In 1939, the Soviet army invaded Finland. A year later, more than 400,000 Finns were forced from their homes when part of the country was ceded to Russia. American Indian populations had endured such forcible removal nearly a century earlier. - -
“There were a lot of circumstantial things and similarities in beliefs and mannerisms, that nurtured these connections,” Jaakola said.
“People who were oppressed tend to have more in common,” Frank Bibeau said. - - both cultures are comfortable in the woods and have similar attitudes about hunting.
“When you went hunting, you went with a purpose,” Bibeau said. “You didn’t just shoot anything.” You took only what you needed.
