A story tweak in the rewrite is that Bittergiggle doesn't immediately die. Toadster takes him back to Syringeon, thinking he might have a chance to save him. but Syringeon just! lets him die anyway! So that he's no longer in the way 👍

But ofc he still lets Toadster thinks he killed him. Grief-induced anger is very convenient when you need someone to do your violent dirty work.
