If he had felt bad for taking Antonio away from the party, he wouldn’t outwardly say so. In fact— he was beyond relieved that he was so quick to agree. Lovino would have left alone if he had to, but where was the fun in that?

Only once they had escaped the crowd and left the building completely did he slow his pace to something more relaxed, still sticking close to him for the time being. “ The ocean...? “ Now that was somewhere he could visit without complaint. “ That sounds a lot better than whatever the hell THAT was. Yeah, let’s do that. “

    Antonio glances at the other next to him, trying to fight off his snorts and chuckles. He normally wasn’t one to sneak away from parties, but when his dear Romano suggested it, how could he say no?

      “Hmmmm, Well, I don’t see why not. Where are we sneaking off to though?”

That answer surprised him more than it should have, Antonio had looked like he was enjoying himself  —— a lot, actually. And while Antonio might flourish in social situations like this, the longer Lovino stayed the more uncomfortable he became; the amount of patience he had for socializing with people he didn’t know well had run out long ago.

Definitely the wrong person. The fact that he didn’t automatically shift into nagging old man mode the moment he questioned his ‘new’ look was proof enough of that. The urge to mock and laugh at him till he was content was quickly replaced with confusion — and a lot of it.  What the fuck was going on?

Not that he would even try, he might have sticky fingers on occasion, but he wasn’t an idiot. Usually. And besides, this guy was old as dirt, if he really felt like it wasn’t terrified by him sometimes he could totally snatch something and run.
