UPDATE (vry important)
OK SO wow this blog is actually gaining a small footing here. That's great!
Unfortunate news though, guess who didn't do the math before beginning this project!
To preface with some context, I started this blog completely out of impulsiveness and overambition without looking into whether any of this could be even remotely humanly possible.
So doing the math, if I made 5 fish a day, that would get me at around 1,800 fish total over the span of one year. For example, the amount of species under the first letter A is over 3,000.
You can see why I struggle to find this reasonable now that I've sat down and actually THOUGHT about what I'm doing here. I have major impulsivity issues like this where I'll hype myself up to do something INSANE only to think about the true scope of it after I've begun. I can't see myself actually completing this realistically so I'm going to terminate this challenge earlier than later to save myself, and frankly, yourself the disappointment.
HOWEVER!!! That does not mean this blog is going anywhere. I'll be rebranding fairly soon to a blog dedicated to my drawings of fish, and I might even include some other aquatic creatures on occasion.
Let me know if you're interested in posts about my personal journey that I'm taking in college to become an ichthyologist. Not too sure if you would all be interested in posts regarding the wet specimens that I fix in the museum I volunteer at, but if that kind of thing is yall's jam I'd love to share it!
Fishies are here to stay!
