If this account is alive- PLEASE MAKE A TUT HOW TO DRAW HANDS LIKE YOU PLSPLSPLS
Well, the account is in stasis more or less until I get my drive back on continuing the story X'D
I actually draw hands ... pretty much out of feeling! There are no real guidlines I follow, and every art style is very different from each other, buuut maybe I can help with some tips and tricks! uwu
First, the base of the hand! I either go either with a circle or a square, that is smaller at the base where the hand meets the arm;
Depending if the hand rests on a shoulder (as seen in the image above), wrapped around an object or andything, the base squishes and stretches as need be.
The fingers are just lines I put where it looks good! I also tend to keep the middle- and ringfinger as one block when they're no stretched out, that way the hand isn't too overcrowded ... and I don't struggle for 5 hours to give each finger space X'DD
Best tip I can give yall: If you're unsure about how to draw a hand, use your own hands as a reference!
Tbh I keep my base sketches/skeleton very very simple, also helps with anxiety and overthinking.
REMEMBER: Nothing needs to be perfect or exact, you do art for yourself and to have fun!!
Next up, let's draw the actual hand!!
Draw some circles, put some lines on it for the fingers to get the pose about-ish to your liking and draw around it!
For the fingers I usually just have a straight line for the back of the fingers, the front lines are shorter, and round them over at the finger tip! Just look at your own fingers, it's pretty similar! owo
What I don't do is segment my fingers since I have a pretty basic style, drawing segment lines just looks off, same with finger nails.
The only 'segments' I use is drawing a line at the bases of the pinky, ring-, middle- and index finger to indicate where they start and a little 'bump' on the palm next to the thumb, for the thumb muscles?? Thumb base?? Idk what's it called, but I hope you know what I mean X'DD
... but if you want nails or claws~
You can just draw little triangles at the end of the fingers and have claws! X3
Though if you need more guidance when drawing a specific pose, feel free to add some balls for your fingers as well!
All in all, a tutorial can only get you so far, I actually don't use tutorials at all! Well, really rarely when looking up some tips, but I got with my gut ... and, well, more than a decades worth of practice X'D
And all I can say is ... to just experiment around with what you got, don't try to be 'perfect', that's not what art is about, and have fun!
Fun fact: I HATE DRAWING HANDS!!!
So take this tutorial as a grain of salt. Tbh sometimes I just get lucky when drawing an awesome hand pose ... for the most part I dun give a flying fuck about if it looks 'accurate' X'DD
