I still think one of the most egregiously false things said about Catherine: Full Body before it’s western release was the way some posters on ResetEra framed the reveal of Rin’s gender.

I don’t remember the exact wording, but it was something along the lines of “Vincent violently assaults Rin after finding out that she’s trans*”, which is a pretty dramatic way of wording “Rin attempts to comfort a clearly distressed Vincent shortly after the latter finds out that the former is actually a man, only for him to slap his hand away out of shock**, something which he very clearly regrets and immediately tries to apologize for.”

* Rin isn’t a trans woman. He’s a crossdresser. He makes it very clear in the scene where this is revealed that he identifies as male.

** It’s probably worth mentioning that in this scene, Vincent is grappling with internalized homophobia, which he learns to overcome a few scenes later.

Recently finished Cather Full Body and I obviously fell for Rin Instantly but there were a couole aspects I didn't like a lot, essentially I rewrote his route and resigned him as well, simply an AU of mine, enjoy.🌺

P.S he's not an alien for my AU, their just angels and I also redesigned the angels as you can see.

I’ve talked about this before, but I’m very glad that the healthiest romantic relationship in Catherine: Full Body is mlm. Rin is sooo sweet to Vincent. He doesn’t push him to do anything he doesn’t wanna do, and he accepts who he is. He also is like, the only romance option where Vincent actually grows as a person. I wish Rin, as a whole, was a more popular character. Like, I was not expecting a healthy mlm relationship to come from Atlus of all people. I know there’s Persona 2, but I haven’t seen Tatsuya and Jun’s relationship firsthand so idk how it is. But I remember how Persona 4 and Persona 5 were handled, in terms of a few homophobic jokes. So I’m really hoping Atlus puts more romances like this in their games.

Been playing a lot of Catherine Full Body recently! One of my favorite games. And Rin is my favorite character! If you haven’t played the route, I would recommend you do so, but buckle up. It’s absolutely wild.
