Dude, what about if you guys do a Metal Gear Solid Endurance Run? Clean save on the PS1. Huh? HUH?! HUHHUHUHUHUHUH?!?!
You play a lot of jazz stuff during the live shows. Do you enjoy jazz at all or is it just to keep the shows classy? If so who's your favorite?
I actually do like jazz. Sarah Vaughan and Oscar Peterson are some of my favorites.
Sir, i really like your signature cup. Where did you obtain such a good mug?
You know... I looked for this the last time I was in SF but couldn’t find it.
I received it from an older guy I used to work with when I was just starting out. He always had it with him, but he never put anything in it. One day, when coincidentally he was passing from life, I asked him “Why is your cup always empty?” and he told me “So I always will remember to fill it with kindness” and then he gave the cup to me and died.
OR
I don’t know. Probably Amazon.
Would you still recommend someone play Dragon Age: Origins in 2014?
Haha, this might be my favorite question so far. Going deeper.
How was it working for Dave Chappelle? He a cool guy?
I was very nervous. I mostly was working with their producer Neil. I believe Dave wore sweats when I met him. I remember everyone asking “Is that funny? Is this funny?” a lot and talking about the DVD sales. I may have grouped 4 different encounters into one, but it was a long time ago. At the end of the Prince thing they asked if I wanted to come in the next day on Saturday to work on another one, they said it was about Rick James, but I was so exhausted I declined. I have no regrets... I did come back and work on their blooper reel for the DVD. That was fun! I think I still have my notes somewhere, but they are mostly “IS THIS FUNNY?”
As a CBS employee, what are your thoughts on the Bert the Farting Hippo controversy? Obviously it's a sensitive subject for you, but the people want to know.
TOO DEEP?
Vinny, it seems you've missed quite a few games since your house has been getting ready -- what are you looking most forward to playing as soon as you get the chance? Watch Dogs?
DEEPER STILL
Any plans to start some type of podcast with Alex? Even if it was something that wasn't weekly, maybe two a month or something, I'd love to listen to you two talk about whatever you've been playing recently.
This is pretty great. We need to go deeper!
Hi Vinny! What make and model is that beautiful blue hollowbody guitar you've got hanging on the wall in the picture you posted on your Tumblr February 24? I'm a sucker for semi-acoustic 335-style guitars like that since they generally sound and look better. Thanks!
I love that guitar. It’s a Gibson ES-335 in Beale Street Blue. I saw it probably... man, almost 15 years ago now when I did a tour of Gibson’s Memphis factory. As far as I could learn they only made that color out of that factory. I was lucky enough to pick one up a few years ago. Gorgeous guitar. Thanks for asking.
Played Rogue Galaxy or Eternal Sonata yet?
haha, that’s funny. These are games I always bring up to do a series with. I own both of them, but never got to them. Maybe someday we will!
Hey Vinny. How is the ATEM going for you? My place of work is looking into a smarter way of producing video (business webinars), and I'm eyeing a Blackmagic ATEM instead of my current solution which is a desktop with a bunch of capture cards inside it. Has the ATEM been a positive experience, or would you want to go back to a Tricaster if you had the option? Also, what software do you use to push content from the ATEM to the internt?
ATEM is OK and gets the job done at 1080p60 where the Tricaster won’t. Tricaster was easier at video and audio clip playback, and also in making composited shots and storing them. ATEM has the ability to be controlled remotely over your network, which is something I also needed since I’m in the studio more than the control room. ATEM is also like... man, 1/8th the price of the Tricaster? All said, the Tricaster was pretty rad and I felt like I could get a lot more mileage out of it, but the ATEM will switch 1080p60 shots for a lot less money.
Using an Epiphan Pro (the dual rack one) to stream currently.
hey vinny. relatively new fan here. just wondering why the platform and price info in quick looks are often (or rather often enough that i double check now) incorrect? even though it's kind of a minor thing, i wish you guys were a little more accurate in that. anyway, thanks vinny.
Huh, that stinks. Some of that stuff changes over time, other times we’re probably just wrong. I know in East we have made an effort to look up the price on the platform we’re playing it on, so sorry if that’s wrong or missing information.
Who would win in a street fight, Dan or a regular ass raccoon?
Nobody, but the raccoon would walk away.
10 bucks says you won't see this
I’ll take it in dimes please. The most annoying of currencies.
Vinny, what sort of mechanical watches do you own?
I have a few Waltham pocket watches that I enjoy trying to repair, but currently I’m wearing a Seiko 5 SNK793 I got for Christmas.
Happy New Year!
IS IT? IS IT REALLY?!
...same to you.
