It is Penelope Featherington’s birthday, and Colin Bridgerton is determined to make it unforgettable.
While Penelope is swept away for a day of shopping, pampering, and birthday surprises with the Bridgerton women, Colin is at Bridgerton House in a panic — organising flowers, hiding a carefully chosen present, and trying not to give away the real reason he is so nervous.
But beneath the roses, the party, and the beautiful dress waiting for Penelope, Colin has planned something far more important than a birthday celebration.
After years of loving Penelope without understanding his own heart, Colin is finally ready to ask her the question that will change both their lives.
A romantic modern Polin one-shot about birthdays, family chaos, protective love, and Colin Bridgerton giving Penelope the one gift she never dared to believe was truly hers: forever.

Penelope Bridgerton is eight months pregnant, uncomfortable, emotional, and deeply loved by a husband who has become impossibly protective of her.
Colin Bridgerton should be focused on the launch of his first published book, but all he can think about is Penelope — whether she has rested, whether she is in pain, whether their long-awaited daughter is safe.
What begins as a proud night of celebration quickly becomes unforgettable when Penelope’s waters break in the middle of Colin’s book launch. Surrounded by family, panic, love, and far too many Bridgertons trying to help, Colin and Penelope face the sudden arrival of the baby they have waited so long to meet.
A modern Polin one-shot about love, fear, family, childbirth, and the moment Colin Bridgerton realises that becoming an author is nothing compared to becoming a father.

As the Halloween Ball continues, Ross reassures Demelza after her first meeting with the Queen, while Jeremy charms nearly everyone in the room. Lady Danbury spends time with Amelia and asks Simon whether he has introduced his daughter to his father; Simon refuses, still carrying the hurt of his father’s cruelty, and Agatha tells him he has become everything they hoped he would be. Anthony quietly checks that Daphne is happy and safe with Simon, only for Ruth to interrupt and be brutally dismissed, with Anthony having no idea who she is. Prince Philip meets Ross and Demelza, praises her cooking and café, and learns — discreetly — that they are expecting another baby. Elizabeth then makes a disastrous attempt to impress the Queen, insulting Ross’s injuries, Demelza’s past, and Jeremy’s parentage in front of the royal family. The Queen is appalled, and Simon, Philip, and Catherine ensure Elizabeth is left thoroughly embarrassed before Simon decides it is time to take Daphne and Amelia home.

Ross and Demelza take Jeremy pumpkin picking during their London visit, as Demelza begins to experience morning sickness from her new pregnancy, and Ross quietly promises to care for her and both children this time. Simon and Daphne bring week-old Amelia, dressed in a pumpkin babygro Caroline bought for her, and Simon reflects on how far he has come from his frightened first reaction to Daphne’s pregnancy. At the farm, Jeremy delightedly calls Ross “Daddy,” helps choose Amelia’s first pumpkin, and charms Simon as ever. The happy day is interrupted when Nigel Berbrooke approaches Daphne, dismisses her baby, and says he still considers her “fair game” until she and Simon are publicly married. Simon is furious, using his full title to put Nigel in his place, but Jeremy’s arrival with a pumpkin for Amelia softens him before he can act on his temper.

On a crisp October day in London, Simon and Daphne adjust to life with their newborn daughter, Amelia, as Simon is fiercely protective and deeply moved by fatherhood. Ross, Demelza, and Jeremy arrive in London for a break after Simon invites them to meet the baby. In Hyde Park, the families reunite warmly: Jeremy proudly calls Ross “Daddy,” Demelza reflects on the pain of not holding Jeremy after his birth, and Ross quietly promises that their new baby will not be taken from her in the same way. The day ends with plans for dinner at Simon and Daphne’s home, Jeremy splashing through puddles, and both families finding happiness in the soft, golden beginning of autumn.

As Ross begins the practical work of rebuilding Nampara, small signs of life return to the farm shop: Caroline starts selling Elizabeth’s reclaimed designer items, overdue wages and bills are paid, and Demelza proves herself valuable not only with animals and customers but with her baking too. At Trenwith, Francis’s doubts about Elizabeth deepen as he begins to see her cruelty more clearly. By the end of Demelza’s trial week, Ross offers her permanent work, and both of them begin to find a quiet steadiness in each other’s company.

Ross Poldark thought he was protecting his family.
Instead, by shutting Demelza out and pretending to betray her, he nearly loses her forever.
When Demelza is shot saving his life, Ross is forced to confront every wound he has ever given her — Elizabeth, Tess, silence, pride, and the terrible habit of deciding alone what his wife deserved to know. Forgiveness may still be possible, but this time love will not be enough by itself.
This time, Ross must earn it.

Jeremy Poldark hears something no child should hear.
One overheard conversation leaves him believing his father never wanted him, and that another boy may one day take his place. When Jeremy runs from Nampara with a broken heart, Ross is forced to face not only the sins of his past, but the pain his son has carried without understanding it.
Years later, when war calls Jeremy away, the bond between father and son is tested one final time.

Amelia arrives at Hastings House; Simon begins to see the life waiting for him; Daphne struggles with being kept still, and Anthony finally tries to be a brother instead of a father.

Battles of the Heart - Chapter 1 - PenelopeR - Poldark - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]
After a disastrous ball leaves Demelza humiliated and Ross drunk, reckless, and gambling with more than he can afford to lose, their marriage reaches its first true breaking point.
Demelza has survived hunger, cruelty, and the judgment of people who will never see her as anything more than a miner’s daughter turned kitchen maid. But she will not be made small in her own marriage. Ross, grieving Jim, raging against the world, and still learning how to love the woman who has become the heart of Nampara, must face the damage pride can do when it is aimed at the person who loves him most.
What begins as one night of anger, apology, and desire becomes the start of a much longer battle — for love, honour, family, forgiveness, and survival.
From the early days of Ross and Demelza’s marriage through Verity’s choices, Trenwith’s fractures, Warleggan’s rise, devastating losses, children, betrayal, reconciliation, and the final years of the Poldark saga, this is the story of a marriage tested again and again — and the woman who refuses to be anyone’s afterthought.
