I have been reading a lot online about how you can boost your SEO by adding Alt text to your images. In the past I never really cared about it and brushed it to the side, so now I am going back and editing all of the images on my company's website. We'll see how it goes! I should probably grab a before and after picture for testing purposes!!
I wish I could tell the people in my audiences exactly who will benefit most from T.P.P. But anything this secretive, and this marked by corporate influence, leaves little room for doubt: It will not be America’s factory workers.

Easiest Pattern Ever? Definitely Gingham.
Hiya! Does anyone out there have experience selling stock vectors? If so, what experience do you have and what tips or pointers do you have for someone interested in this?
At work, I find that there is a need for vector patterns that are swirly and of course free. I tried my hand at a couple of patterns but I am not really getting the result I want. There is definitely an art form to making vector patterns. Even if it is just cut and pasting, there needs to be a certain rhythm. I am getting closer.

Hello struggling Anon,
I’m am so sorry that your feelings of inadequacy have been persuasive enough to overwhelm and torment you like this. I’m especially sorry that the results of that self hatred was you not being able to finish your artwork for more than a year. I do relate to and understand this but I’m sure your feelings are unique and specific to what and who has been in your life. I will try to offer you any advice I can but you may have to take different approaches to be able to manage or erase your feelings.

Drawing Exam (:
1. The tool used for stippling, a hot wax pen. You can use this tool to carve small designs and lines into objects.
2. Blind contour is a drawing that you do without looking at the paper, or lifting your pencil off the paper.
3. The two orientations in drawing include Landscape and portrait.
4.The purpose of squinting when making art is so you can see it from another angle, it only shows minimal detail, so you don’t focus on detail to much.
5. Rapid contour is when you draw something without picking up your pencil really fast. Very little detail if any.
6. Cross contour is a contour drawing, then you go back through and add cross lines to show depth.
7. Sighting is when you use a pencil or wooden stick to show size ratio between things.
8. Form is when you add shading a specific way to make a flat shape 3D.
9. Modeling shows detail.
10. Cross hatching is important because it shows shading.
11. Value is extremely important, value can make a drawing go from 0-100 in just a little bit of value. (below is an example of bad and good value.)
12. 2 point perspective
13.
14. 1st perspective
2nd perspective
3rd perspective
4th perspective
15. Gestalt is seeing the negative and getting an image out of either one.
Tutorial: plastic keychains
I know a ton of you have been waiting for this one. Teaching you to make your own plastic keychains!
To start off, I think the biggest question everyone has is what I use to make them. I work with shrink film. You might be familiar with Shinky Dink brand shrink film as a kid. I use Grafix brand white inkjet shrink film. The inkjet kind is relatively pricey compared to the regular kind. If you’re using regular, I don’t recommend you stick it in your printer. Sharpie markers would be good for that.
Alright, now open up the file with the images that you’re working with. Make sure your images are a lot bigger than you want your finished product to be since they shrink significantly.
You’ll also want to lighten the opacity to about half. I go somewhere between 50-60%.
Now print your image out! I’ve found that it works best for me when I have it at the plain paper setting, and standard print quality.
Holepunch with a ¼" holepuncher BEFORE you shrink them. It’s so much more work to have to punch holes when your plastic is thick!
Cut out your design, leaving the amount of border you want.
Set them on a tray for convenience. An aluminum foil sheet works too, but I recommend cookie trays because they are easier and quicker to get out of the oven.
Preset heat. Your shrink film package will tell you what temperature to set it at, but I find that it isn’t always accurate for me. I generally set temperature to 350 degrees or so.
Put them in the oven. Remember to keep track of time! I leave them in for about a minute and a half.
After time is up they should be super small! Magic!
If your charms are not flat, put something heavy on it right out of the oven when they are still hot and malleable.
If you’d like to, you can seal them now. In my last two batches, I used clear topcoat nail polish. The problem with that is that I need between 3-5 coats of it, and it takes a while to dry. I’ve been experimenting with modpodge.
For lariats, you can use jump rings or lobster clasps.
Here is one that I made that wasn’t sealed. The finished texture after shrinking is a little bit rough. There’s nothing wrong with leaving them unsealed, but because they are inkjet printed, the colors wash right of without protection.
This is one that was sealed with modpodge. The colors become a little more vibrant and smooth and water resistant. Things often get stuck on when applying or drying so be careful.
These ones down here were sealed with clear nail polish. They come out shiny if you put enough coats, but the grainy texture will still be there.
Well, there ya go! Have fun making your own keychains!
How To Change an Indesign File to a PSD
1. Export the Indesign Document as a PDF.
2. If Multiple pages, either extract the pages in Adobe Reader, or save two separate files.
3. Open a Page in Adobe illustrator.
4. Release all clipping paths, adjust artwork accordingly.
5. Change color Mode to RGB
6. In Illustrator, go to FILE > EXPORT….
7. Set it to these options:
8. Open the new PSD in Photoshop.
9. Adjust the artwork, add a white background.
10. Covert the color to CMYK
11. Save.
Not all gold spray paint is created equal.
For a light gold non-brassy shimmer, Rust-oleum Champagne Mist is a good choice.
If you’re looking for a true metallic gold, nothing beats Rust-oleum Specialty Metallic in Gold.
And if you really just want a ton of glitter, give Rust-oleum Gold Glitter a shot. Seriously, nothing but glitter. It’s pretty amazing.
