Riley and Tamika Go To Prom
Tamika took three weeks picking out that dress. Riley forgot about prom until the last minute, realized he didn’t have a suit jacket, and decided to throw on a leather one and tell everyone he was being subversive. Noelle thought both of her kids looked beautiful, and had to excuse herself as she welled up with tears.
Bryon, still trying to win the affection of his new stepkids, rented a limo to take them to prom. It was a cute gesture, but seeing as they were going alone, and lived across the street from the school, it might not quite have been money well spent.
Tamika was so excited, she ran off while Riley was still getting out of the limo. Riley took his time walking there, and found Tamika waiting for him at the door.
To the shock of everyone attending, the twins won Prom King and Prom Queen respectively. The outcasts and rebels banded together to vote for Riley as a ‘take that’ from the more popular kids, and as for Tamika? Apparently there were more quiet, artsy kids around school than anyone thought. The deejay had already queued up a slow song for the two to dance to, but any awkwardness was subverted when Riley break-danced to “Baby I’m Amazed” while Tamika laughed and cheered him on.

Their prom picture was everything their prom was - far from perfect, but all kinds of fun. They each took home their copy. Riley put his on the shelf above their desk, while Tamika hung hers on the wall over her bed. Both of them smile every time they see it.
