āI am really moved and motivated by things that occur that are unjust. Iāve always hated people trampling on other people. I was in quandary, a philosophical quandary, because I tought, if Iām not my brotherās keeper, who am I? Where does my life end and my sense of responsibility for other lives begin?ā Ā Listen to Me Marlon (2015) dir. Stevan Riley

Vogue (August 15, 1946): Ā
Found two seasons ago on Broadway, MarlonĀ Brando is twenty-one, and very good indeed. His first big part was in "I Remember Mama"; last winter, he gave a superb performance as a war-shocked murderer in "Truckline Cafe"āthe Maxwell Anderson play that ended up with Anderson calling the New York critics "the Jukes." In the spring,Ā Brando was a stormy Marchbanks to Katharine Cornell's Candida. He was born in Bangkok, grew up here; has a chaos of hair, a wilful theatrical talent.
