All We Know Is Falling: Warriors AU

Hello all! I Decided it’d be best to have a post for my AU fanfic! This is a ”Crowfeather and Leafpool do leave the clans” fanfic, but with a lot of twists. I’ve changed a lot of things, like having Cinderpelt live and having Nightcloud be a friend to Crowfeather instead of a potential mate (same with Bramble and Squilf not getting together at all). I look forward to really putting this whole thing together!

Life Update

Hey all! It's been a while since you've heard from me on this blog specifically, and I wanted to drop a few things here while I work on the next part of AWKIF.

TL;DR - I'm happy about everyone's continued support, events have happened that have made me want to distance myself from the larger parts of the Warriors community, and I will be bringing other AUs to life besides AWKIF.

Now, first of all, thank you all for your continued support! It's been so nice to know that even with the slowness, my AU is still connecting with people! On a more somber note, while my posting habits will be about the same, I think I'll be distancing myself from the community at large. I want to focus on the art I make and maybe just cultivating a small group of friends to chat with. There are some things that have happened that make me realize that I don't want to end up losing myself to the deluge of drama and toxicity that keeps cropping up over and over. I'll be voicing my opinion on certain topics on my personal blog only, so my warrior cats stuff is going to be purely for the sake of exploring the funny cat books that I still somewhat connect with and nothing else. If you want to send a message my way you are still free to, but please try not to bring up what you think the situations I'm referring to are! I'm keeping that to myself for a reason.

Second of all, I'll be working on other AUs alongside AWKIF, so you'll be seeing some oneshots and art pieces start to appear left and right. Admittedly, that'll probably be the most "greater community" specific thing you see from me, because a lot of different creators have a lot of cool ideas that I want other people to see!

Third and final point is just a genuine thank you for all of your guys support! I've been dealing with a lot of things that I don't after share here, and having something to come back to has been a great motivator creatively! I look forward to continuing with my projects here, because even with my problems with the series and community, it still means a lot to me. I want to bring my ideas to life to show that adoration, as best I can. Anyways, thank you all for reading!

Been wanting to draw some fanart for Poor George MAP since it's my favorite one, and because it was its anniversary recently, I finally did it :>

A new chapter of All We Know Is Falling is finally done, and with it, I finally got around to finishing this piece I’ve had in mind since deciding to incorporate the powers into the story! I’m so happy with how this came out, and the nebula brush in Procreate is my new best friend honestly.

As you can see, I’ve decided that the way things are changed in this AU, it’d be fun to have the powers manifest in the parents before they manifest in the kids. I’ve had the idea in mind for a while but I now have actual plans for it, so look forward to that!

heyyyy warriors tumblr i see the discussion around rainflower rn and while I'm always up for discussing misogyny in the series and fandom i want to remind you that while this might just be a hypothetical cat book scenario for you, for many, many disabled children it is not. caretaker abuse of disabled children is a RAMPANT real world issue, and often the caretakers are sided with because it's just "sooooo hard" living with a disabled child.

here is a list of disabled people murdered by their caretakers.

many of them have not received justice.

i seriously doubt the authors were purposefully trying to portray and condemn this specific type of abuse. but what they ended up putting on paper does match up to this real world issue regardless of intent.

im not saying to not discuss how other people in crookedstar's life failed him, or to not talk about double standards between male and female characters, or to not discuss the trope of "evil mother good father" that constantly appears in warriors. i am saying please be careful to not use minimizing language (like saying unrelated situations that do not involve abuse based on hatred of a real life marginalized group are worse/just as bad.) and to not try to come up with justifications for behavior like rainflower's (plenty of people who grow up in ableist societies are violently ableist without a tragic backstory. rainflower is a poor excuse for a critique of ableism but in trying to fix that you do not need to make her into a poor little meow meow).

rainflower is not real and does not make her own choices. her actions are the choices of the authors. however, real people of a marginalized group do go through situations similar to this. when analyzing rainflower and crookedstar's promise as a whole you should be keeping that in mind and adjusting your language and attitude accordingly.

don't let ableist abuse become a nebulous hypothetical concept in your mind for the sake of battle cat discourse.

warriors is a very ableist series. when discussing it you ALWAYS need to be on high alert for ableism in your own thoughts and analysis.

AU Update!

Hey guys! It has been way too long since I ended up taking a break from this blog, so I wanted to offer a quick update! Right now I’m hoping to start progress on All We Know Is Falling again, and to do that I’m starting with a one-shot that takes place a bit further ahead in the continuity that’ll highlight where Breezepelt comes from! Hopefully it’ll help me get back into the groove of things. In the meantime, I’ll work on some more designs as well, and potentially some sketches for parts of the series/my AU/my OCs’ stories that I really like. Stay tuned, and feel free to check in to see how stuff is going if things get quiet here again!
