Key holders for the Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Emilio D’Alessandro remembers: “Once the shooting was over, Stanley used some of them for the keys of his own house, Childwickbury. Naturally, too many had been made for the film. ‘Which one do you want?’ Stanley asked me. ‘Number 107,’ I replied, ‘like the number of the bus I used to take every day from Edgware Lane to go to work at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.’ He gave me several more besides.”
