in my Dreamtale take, he has a crack on his skull after the incident that happened on Dreamtale, more specifically after consuming the power of the last golden apple. the power of his soul got even stronger than before, barely being able to be contained in the tiny space that is his body. remember what happened to Nightmare's body after eating all the negative apples? Nightmare's skull broke in half so all the energy contained inside could scape. a similar thing happened to Dream, but it was not as bad compared to Nightmare. the crack on his right eye was already enough to let the magic scape when he consumed the golden apple, because unlike Nightmare, he only had one apple left. but even though Dream's injury was not as bad as Nightmare's, it still caused a huge impact on him. not only he feels pain constantly, but his right vision is also blurry now, which makes it difficult to aim, for an example.

i love when people portray Dream with disabilities in their fanarts/fanfics, specially chronical pain (it makes a lot of sense to me personally)

i'd love to explore more about this topic, but it'd be better if i do it when i actually decide to write my Dreamtale take

do you guys ever had dreams that you thought were real when you woke up? one of my most common dreams i have are the ones where i adopt a cat. pretty normal dreams, i just adopt a cat, play with it all day and go to sleep. then i wake up thinking there's an actual cat in my house and i walk around looking after it, lol.
