This is one of the most popular questions asked in the early days of Microsoft interviews, I am not sure if it is still part of Microsoft legacy or not but I am quite sure that is still one of the best questions to keep candidates busy at the time of interviews and keep rolling their eyes on roof of interview room. In order to evaluate prospective employees, the best way is to see his critical thinking ab1ilities. It reflects how innovative one can be and how one approaches a problem with more than one conceivable answer. This way we can test the rationale, judgement skills and capacity to apply logical skills when put in a pressure situations.
