hey guys guess whos back! contrary to popular belief i am alive! college got very very busy, but the itch to write has me in its claws so. maybe ill finally finish up some drafts and answer some asks >:)
hiihih so can you please do a kutner x masc! bpd reader??
I read you're fics and they're so good so I had to make request!!
kind of like reader takes the place of Alvie but y'know... kutners alive when they get out of the physc ward and him and kutner have a relationship but he didn't tell kutner he was getting out because of a manic episode. Reader stays at houses apartment because they're friends and house dosent come to work so kutner goes to check on him and he finds the reader there.
Lawrence Kutner with... masc BPD reader.
TWs: pretty vague reference to BPD episodes, mention of kutner's suicide (portrayed as a silent attempt)
A/N: i wont lie i watched the entire psych ward arc in one night and i was quite drunk . so my memory of alvie is not impeccable . but we move! i love kutner and i chronically live in denial of what happened to him. obama dni. hcs format because im very tired but i quite liked this request and wanted to do it :]
kutner, to his credit, didn't actually have a reason to worry about you. he was under the impression you were still relatively safe in the ward.
for now, his main concern was house.
the guy hadn't shown up at work for weeks, and foreman, cuddy and wilson both seemed reluctant to clue him in. thirteen and taub don't have a clue.
he was a worrier, he couldn't help it!
so, with a little digging around the office, he got his hands on house's address
it didn't go as planned.
he raps at the door without his usual patience, but the shock is evident on his face when you answer the door, eyes narrowed.
then, you let up, beaming.
"oh my god! lawrence! hi! what are you doing here?"
"what- what am I doing- why are you at my boss' house!?"
it's. a long winded explanation. you're quite excited to find that your boyfriend's boss (who he unfortunately complained about. a lot.) is such a great friend of yours!
maybe not a great friend. but a better one than most.
kutner's less excited to find out his boyfriend got out of the psych ward and never contacted him.
"look, i dunno. it was weird. you didn't visit for a while so i thought you were mad at me, then i got released, and by the time i came down from that it'd be pretty awkward to call you like. y'know. 'been out of the ward for two weeks, wanna hang out?'"
"you've been out for two weeks!?"
"closer to a month, now..."
he's a sweetie pie. he's not mad at you. he's just glad you're out, doing better, and on good terms.
he's just happy to have you back.
suddenly, he doesn't care about house's situation. he's a little curious about how the two of you know each other, but it's a problem for later on.
you guys talk. a lot.
he puts it in a mental note to always be open with you, and he apologises for falling behind on visits.
he really had tried his best. but his own mental health troubles caught up with him.
he conveniently didn't mention that part. he loves you and trusts you but... he just doesn't want you to know. not yet. nobody else knows. he wants it to stay that way.
that doesn't matter now, though. nothing does. all he cares about is fixing the cracks that formed while you were away.
he missed the light you brought into his life (✿^‿^)
new writing may be slow because. to be quite frank, ive had the worst two days in a long time. truly insane business. cant even use it for fics because like 90% of it falls under my "will not write" list. unfortunately will not be projecting it onto my favs :C
anyways patience is appreciated, asks have all been seen and are coming whenever im next able to stop and sit down and write lol
I was the person who requested the house fic 🙋♀️ ngl I always feel weird when reading stuff I requested. I don't mean this in an ungrateful way. I mean, you took the time to write something for me, a complete stranger, for free and then it's just a fanfiction about a middle-aged drug addict?? Thank you for all the effort and your author note was cute and made me smile! (we love you, robert sean leonard, we say in unison)
anon ur such a sweetie this made me smile sm <3 i lowkey relate,, hence why a lot of writing is for myself - im gen too nervous to request another blog LMAO
hiii! I started watching house md for a certain person *cough*robert sean leonard *cough* neil perry *cough* and then I read your romance tropes and why is house's lowkey so cute?? like imagine house pre relationship lightly teasing reader and the team (or whoever is witnessing) just being like huh? can you please write something like that
Greg House with... light-heartedly teasing reader.
tws: boss/employee relationship, though its not predatory and has no overt power dynamic
A/N: anon ur so real because i went the opposite way!!! exclusively watched dead poets society for fine shyt then absolutely lost my mind over it. anyways i lowkey deviated from the request so i am sorry :C but i had SUCH a magical time writing this so we ball
as per usual its late and im tired, so this may not be astounding x
Foreman is the first to witness it. It almost felt like a glitch in the matrix, so he chose to ignore it and move on. When you guys become official? Different. Story. It plagues his mind.
"I dunno, sarcoma sounds like something that was suggested days ago. If only it hadn't been ignored!"
"Don't flatter yourself by assuming I listen to you in differentials and just choose to ignore you. For all I know, Foreman could've suggested it. At the time, it was stupid enough."
That sounded like something he ought to be offended by. But as the retort boiled up in his throat, he noticed it. The fond smile on House's face. It's almost alien to look at. His eyes dart away, as if staring too long will put his job on the chopping block. It probably would.
Logically, he knows that fondness is probably for a complete, closed case. As per usual. But he does wonder, if only for a second.
Chase's case is significantly more mild, but considering how much more socially ept he is than Foreman, it's easier to put together.
"Couldn't it all be boiled down to stress?"
"Doesn't explain the itchy feet. Nice try, though."
Nice try? Chase has practically been tackled to the floor for such a suggestion and you get nice try!? He's not even being patronising! It's the most genuine Chase has ever seen House! Ridiculous! Obscene! Riots in the streets!
It sticks with him for a while. He really gets lost in his own mind about it. There's two reasons for House to be as close to nice as he can get. One, he wants to get with you. Two, House is dead and this is a replacement doomed for only Chase to notice.
He leans towards the first one.
There's no set moment where Cameron first locks onto it. It's just little things that slowly piece together over time, y'know? She's a romantic! She notices when there's a little love in the air.
As she drags her way through paperwork, Cameron finds herself eavesdropping on House in his office. Not consciously, and not with any ill will. It's just that the glass walls are thin and her forms are so dreadfully boring.
"You should go! You'd have fun - any event with open bar and classmates that ended up worse off than you would be fun for you."
"And you've learnt this from going to how many college alumni events? No reunion, no opinion."
"Do you have to be so antisocial all the time?"
"It's a personal choice. The ladies dig it."
"They really don't."
Cuddy quickly becomes suspicious when it comes to House's newfound interest in actually doing his job. Sure, he loves his puzzles and his mysteries, but she's quite certain he's never avoided her to do his job. It's usually the opposite.
"You need to be ready for the meeting with Human Resources in half an hour so-"
"Can't. Got an important MRI calling me. Duty calls, or whatever."
She stops firmly in the middle of the hallway. "Is this seriously about (L/N)? I don't know what your thing with them is, but this is serious and you need to be present for this to go-"
"You know how young doctors are. Better if I'm there. Y'know - to pick up any slack. Can't have my fellows sued for malpractice over a little mistake, can I?" With that, he's gone. So much for the HR meeting. It's probably better that he doesn't attend, anyway.
She's not quite sure what peaked his interest in you - for now, she thinks better of asking.
Wilson is almost embarrassed by how long it took him to notice the subtle, but ever present, chemistry. Like with everyone else, the lack of I-want-to-ruin-your-self-esteem-forever jabs really does tip him off. There's not a person on earth safe from House's wrath, then suddenly you come along and he's practically a saint!
"You have a thing for your employee!"
The proclamation comes with dramatic arm gestures, but is met with a deadpan response.
"Obviously. You think I hired Chase for his skills? Get real."
"You could never go out with them."
"Logically. Cuddy would never shut up about it, for one. And it'd probably make things awkward with Cameron."
"I can't believe it! You seriously want to date your employee. Your subordinate."
"First you tell me I can't break up someone else's marriage, now I can't date a fellow. It's like you don't even want me to be happy."
hi sweet, i read your masterlist, and saw you write for amber volakis (house m.d) and was curious if you'd be willing to write headcanons for an autistic!reader w amber?
totally cool if not, thank you for reading anyway! :)
Amber Volakis with... Autistic reader.
tws: N/A
A/N: i was fighting demons trying not to throw in my autistic amber hcs. its true but half this fandom simply isnt ready to hear it :C similar to the bpd one, i try to keep it inclusive. i dont like to only write the stereotypical symptoms, because having lesser-known symptoms that lead to people discrediting your experiences SUCKS
also its been years and years since someone said "hi sweet" and i got a wave of nostalgia thats so cute,,,
she honestly isn't bothered. she cares, but it's not a big deal to her.
not good with social cues? that's fine! she gets them but chooses to ignore them.
finds it really funny when you're rude to people she dislikes, moreso if it's an accident. tells you when you've said something rude, regardless. it's not a criticism, it's just so you can take note and not say it to people you care for.
in terms of eye contact, she matches your freak. if you don't like eye contact, she tries not to be intense about it. if you make too much, it's just gonna be you two intensely staring each other down. cuties <3
will 100% snap at people being rude to you. especially if you don't notice.
"they're so weir-" (CHOKESLAM)
does not accept people patronising or infantalising you. whatsoever. even if it doesn't bother you that much, it bothers her to see her partner treated as a child.
^ this even more if you're seeing doctors.
she may not have a high status, but she doesn't mind name dropping associates who do. she knows how autistic adults get treated.
does occasionally ask for your input on cases, especially if you work in the medical field!!!
you two tend to notice different things, so it's a refreshing perspective change
more than happy to listen to special interests or hyperfixations. very engaged listener - asks questions and refers back and such.
no shame in setting boundaries. yalls are straight to the point without dancing around. she's direct with what she wants and needs. if she has a problem, she tells you directly.
if you don't like touch, she may find it hard but she's willing to adjust for you.
avoids your sensory issue triggers. she won't cut things she likes out of her life but she won't surround herself with it and put you off. eg: if you have aversions to pasta, she won't make it for you but it's not like she won't eat it herself.
if you aren't very social, she's happy to stay home and not go out too often. it's only her coworkers inviting her - she doesn't feel that she's missing out on a lot.
she's not absolutely groundbreaking when it comes to meltdowns/shutdowns, but she tries her best. unless she knows you need something, she gives you space to regulate without her getting under your feet
there was some trouble at first when it came to you being non-verbal, but you eventually figure out a system
tldr - she is very supportive and willing to learn about your needs! given time and communication, it's a great relationship C:
miiiight add dead poets society to fandom list..... especially since its just house md rn......... as soon as i finish the book its so over for you guys
characters: allison cameron, amber volakis, chris taub, eric foreman, gregory house, james wilson, lawrence kutner, lisa cuddy, martha masters, remy "thirteen" hadley, robert chase
tws: none :D some spoilers for thirteen's s7 storyline so beware!
A/N: woah mama ive been busy...... sorry chat..... anyways :3 this took ages pls be kind to me. i proper struggled on some of these. shoutout to specifically taub fans!!! hes so funny and constantly overlooked :C this is not proofread - its been in the works for a while and its nearly 5am lol
Allison Cameron is the opposites attract trope.
people as kind and moral as cameron are oddly hard to find in a hospital. you'd think there'd be more. you can't really judge, though.
she's a refreshing presence. a reminder that not everyone is so cynical and uncaring. her constant appreciation for patients - even the uncooperative and unkind - is what draws you in.
it's such a basic thing, but to see someone so unconditionally loving and caring. it reminds you to be better. to be kinder.
Amber Volakis is the rivals to lovers trope.
at first, you two don't get along very well. she was doing whatever it took to succeed, and if that meant dragging you down? she was more than fine with that.
but that doesn't go to say she doesn't like you. if anything, she hopes you two end up working together! after some time, you're one of the few people that seems to understand - you do what you gotta do to win!
she likes having someone to compete with, even if it's silly little things. it makes her feel alive. and she likes being with someone that won't expect her to dampen her ambition.
Chris Taub is the relationship of convenience trope.
honestly? at first, after rachel, he just wants someone to lean on at the end of a rough shift. someone to talk to, be affectionate towards, share the space with. the wealthy home of a plastic surgeon-turned diagnostician is awfully quiet with only him around.
it's clear from the start that you're there because you two get along well and you're both quite lonely. but you fall into routine quickly. taub likes having someone to care about, someone to buy gifts for, someone who'll wait up for him.
it's not clear when it jumps from "we're here to help each other out" to "i hope you never leave". but as long as you're happy, it doesn't have to be.
Eric Foreman is the forced proximity trope.
working odd hours at a hospital really does tend to make for an odd pairing. there's nothing wrong with foreman per se, but you're not the loving, pda relationship everyone senses from a mile off.
nevertheless, when you always seem to be there, keeping patients alive and constantly at the team's beck and call, he does take a liking to you.
Gregory House is the "i hate everyone but you" trope.
it is corny but... we love to see it. don't be fooled - this doesn't mean he's nice to you. that'd be crazy!
it isn't lost on his coworkers. especially not wilson and cuddy. they don't miss the softened gaze and the gentle teasing as opposed to the relentless abuse that everyone else is subjected to.
a lot of people wonder how you can date such a man. but they don't see him how you do. mostly because it's a different sight altogether.
James Wilson is the secret dating trope.
wilson, despite his lack of it, does like his privacy. he can't keep house away from you, but he can definitely keep him away from your relationship. for the time being, at least.
it'll only last so long - house is always on the case when wilson starts to look a little more cheery than usual. and god knows he won't just drop the topic.
but still, you can enjoy the discrete kisses and loving stares from across the room while they last.
Lawrence Kutner is the childhood friends to lovers trope.
kutner isn't the kind of guy to lose friends. he's never too busy, never burning bridges with anyone, never losing touch. that said, people are still often surprised to know how long you've known each other.
you two are the couple everyone saw coming from a mile away. it's rather sweet. and everyone was glad to see it! you deserve each other.
it's an easygoing relationship - decades together have taught you both how to mediate situations, how to comfort each other and how to avoid pressing unnecessary buttons.
Lisa Cuddy is the right person, wrong time trope.
you really did try to make it work. around tight schedules and difficult jobs and motherhood, you made do. for a while. and it was good! you loved each other - it didn't take a genius to clue that much out.
but it was hard. too hard. too much arguing and pent up resentment to really rationalise keeping a relationship going.
maybe if things were different. if you got together when you were younger, or just before rachel was born, or even if she had a less important job. but cuddy lives and breathes her job. even though she loves you, that won't change just for you.
Martha Masters is the slow burn trope.
it's not that she's clueless but... it is something to that effect. she does try her best to charm you, in her own way. and vice versa. it all just gets a little lost in translation, along the way.
to everyone else, it's quite obvious. it's very much a "just kiss already!!" scenario for onlookers. but you two just have to dance around it and avoid addressing it.
Remy Hadley is the "and they were roommates" trope.
you two are more unspoken, so to speak. you're not just friends, but you're not quite lovers either. it starts with the awkward sharing of a living space and slowly blossoms into late night talks and shared secrets.
you tend not to like anyone she brings home, and the same goes for her. but nothing is ever official or confirmed, so you can hardly complain. you're just dear friends.
you're the only one she tells when she goes to prison, and you're the first she calls when she gets out. you don't judge her and it's a weight off her shoulders.
but you're not lovers. a waste, truly, of undying love.
Robert Chase is the fake relationship trope.
it actually starts with him wanting less demanded overtime from house. he seems to let chase leave early whenever he thinks there's a date involved. that's where you come in.
at first, he just asks you to call with fake-worry, wondering where your ever-so charming boyfriend is at this hour. maybe meet him at the hospital. as suspicion from house arises, he decides maybe you guys should go out somewhere every now and again. or back to his place. just in case house decides to stalk you. obviously.
TW Hia! I have request, like, headcannons for Robert Chase X a reader with PTSD?Maybe some stuff abt when they get suicidal too?thx,I love what you've posted so far!
A/N: thank you for request anon :3 !!!!!! we love to see it <3 i do not have PTSD so my depiction may not be astounding but i did research where i could, please let me know if any of it was particularly bad lol
initially, he has a "don't rock the boat" mindset.
he's very aware of how trauma can lead to harm against others, and without thinking too hard about it, it's just a self preservation instinct.
so he avoids pretty much anything and everything that could trigger you.
could, being the key word. he's far too stunted to actually ask about triggers, so he takes a guess here and there.
it goes about as well as one would expect.
that said, after time and proper communication, you do get somewhere.
he never stops watching out for triggers, it just gets a lot easier when he actually knows what they are.
as much as he isn't a light sleeper, he has a sixth sense of sorts, just for your nightmares.
he sits there as long as you need, happily runs around and fetches anything you want.
he stays up as long as he can when you can't sleep.
if you have particularly bad amnesia, he leaves post-it notes around to make sure you don't forget chores and errands.
having his own experience with trauma makes him understanding of a lot of experiences.
he gets that some days it's easier to stay at home and avoid the outside world. sometimes you want him there, sometimes you don't. he doesn't have to like it, but he does understand.
he does push you to get out and do things on those bad days, though.
also pushes you towards therapy and professional help. he wants to see you get better.
the one thing he doesn't push is for you to talk about your trauma. he's happy never knowing what happened. even if he is slightly curious, he will never ask, god forbid force you to tell him.
if you do choose to tell him, he's all ears for it. talking about trauma is hard and he understands that better than most. he listens without judgement or butting in.
that said, he keeps you far away from house. as long as he can, he ensures you never meet.
the last thing you need is someone you don't know, like or trust trying to clue out your trauma. and knowing him, probably some mocking of it, too.
he watches out for you when he knows you're not watching out for yourself. he doesn't want to lose you over suicidal thoughts caused by something you can't control. something you can't stop.
worst comes to worst, he has connections in psychiatrics.
when you reach a point where you can be open about those thoughts, it gets a lot easier.
it stops him from being paranoid and overbearing, and helps him actually help you.
obviously he does anything he can to keep you from ending your life, but he tries to do so without guilt tripping. none of that "stay because i need you" business.
it is hard for him, but he does all he can to keep you around. sometimes it feels like more trouble than it's worth, but you are worth it. he loves you and will make sure you stay alive long enough to move past what you went through.
characters: allison cameron, eric foreman, gregory house, james wilson, robert chase
tws: self-destructive behaviour (binge eating, drug abuse, suicide attempts, self harm), enabling, vague description of manic episodes.
A/N: written at like 4am pls treat me kindly <3 house is slightly toxic but its accurate imo so cope!! tried to refer to a broader spectrum, including things i dont experience, so sorry if it's not all 100% accurate :C
Allison Cameron
Definitely one of the more understanding of the OGs.
Very big on communication puts a lot of effort into being completely open. Never wants to make you feel like you've been pushed aside.
Finds it kinda hard to move on from splits, but does get that, 99% of the time, you don't mean what you're saying. Still takes it to heart, though.
Will happily sit there and wait for you to come down and be ready to talk.
Worries a lot when you're manic. She doesn't want to infantalise you but she can be a little bit overbearing.
Non-judgemental when it comes to self harm. Just cleans up however necessary, sits with you and reassures you.
She does push you to stop self harming, but also realises it can be very addictive for most people.
She finds it quite hard to accept when you do something bad during episodes, but often excuses it and pushes blame onto whatever the trigger was. She's not that bothered about apologising tbh.
Eric Foreman
Struggles a lot, especially at first.
He isn't great with empathy, so it's hard for him to really understand, especially since you're considerably more emotional than he is.
After a while, he at least learns what you need from him, and he gets into the habit of reassuring you whenever you fight.
"I am mad, but that doesn't mean I hate you or I'm leaving you. We'll work it out."
After the first few splits aimed at him, he does stop taking it personally, but will understandably get annoyed if you refuse to apologise.
He takes note of any uncharacteristic behaviour - he hates to see you going down that slope.
Especially notices overindulgence in drugs, from everything with his brother. Overreacts if you end up doing any, especially if you spend a lot of money. It gets very heated, very quickly.
Good at grounding during dissociative episodes. Stays with you as long as you need him. He has little to no problem with missing work or showing up late for you.
Gregory House
Probably does a DDX on you when he notices any symptoms you display. He knew before you told him. Hell, his whole team knew before you told him!
That, and if you're diagnosed, he's probably gone digging around your records. Furthermore, if you are formally diagnosed, he does a LOT to make sure you don't have to deal with any biases.
He's honestly not great. Let's be real. But he does try, which is more than you can say about what he does for the others.
He's aware that the amount of time he spends with Wilson can be triggering for abandonment. But he's also pretty shit at reassuring you. So he brings you along to a lot of hangouts :]
Short of having his eyes on you 24/7, he never knows what to do when you're manic. He can make as many sarcastic jokes and backhanded comments as he wants it doesn't make him any less anxious.
Projects a lot of his own issues onto you, but amplifies it iykwim? Assumes that something that upsets him could trigger something serious with you.
He is possibly the worst person to split on. When you go low, he goes lower. Disagreements turn into shouting matches quickly and usually end in meltdowns.
You are one of the few people he'll actually apologise to you. Not just because he cares more, but also because there's a lot less that can go unsaid. He can guess that Cuddy and Wilson understand through his actions that he's sorry, it's less of a gamble he wants to take with you.
James Wilson
The MOST forgiving out of all of them.
The only downside is that, like he is with House, he is an enabler. He just can't find the line.
When you're splitting, he honestly just sits there and takes it.
Also never expects an apology. Would probably let you get away with using it as an excuse for poor behaviour, if you ever did.
That said, he does get that you can't really help a lot of it.
When it comes to self destruction, he's always focussed on making sure you're okay. Nothing else seems to matter in the moment, even if you've hurt him in the process.
I mean, he's a head of department in a hospital. reckless spending isn't too much of an issue. If need be, he's more than happy to use his status to get you better care.
However, as mentioned above, he does enable. He doesn't encourage it but rarely pushes you to quit more risky vices.
One of the few that would seriously push you to seek help. Very aware that BPD can be manageable, so long as there's proper help.
Also does what he can to get you medicated if that's something you're seeking out.
Robert Chase
He's not perfect, but he knows what it's like to feel alone and abandoned.
Very empathetic - he tells you he's here for you as many times as you need to hear it.
Incredibly worried about the idea of you making a suicide attempt - if it happens once he gets a little paranoid about it. If he wakes up in the night and you're not there, he panics.
He knows that splits aren't something either of you can really help, but it's tough. He tries not to leave you alone during episodes he's also not gonna sit there and take it.
Kind of mocks your delusions. It's well-intentioned but it can make it harder to be open about.
He's pretty used to being snapped at, from both family and work, so he mostly takes it in his stride.
That being said, he can usually tell when the shouting and hostility is coming from a place of self-sabotage, for the sake of burning bridges.
Overall, quite the worrier. Doesn't want to bombard you about it, but he picks up on most changes in demeanour and sort of notes it down for later. Just in case.
