i know we're all sick of the If Only He Had Gotten Help™ meme, and while i'm sure it is mostly from people who use it as an excuse because they're scared to death of being mobbed for glazing mass shooters, i wonder if there isn't a whole generation of dumbasses who take it seriously because they grew up in the hyper-censored social media age -- where being mean in comments was against the rules entirely, and where the atmosphere of passive-aggression via stuff like people incessantly telling each other to "get help", essentially concern trolling as harshly as possible because they didn't wanna be banned for saying what they actually wanted to say, which was closer to like "kill yourself"

and so now you have all these people who got r/woosh'd into not realizing the above, thinking that the get help™ meme wasn't a meme and that therapy is like some type of positive radiation, where simply being exposed to it long enough will cure your mental unwellness, even though you're paying some social worker to talk to you (apparently most therapists don't even have backgrounds in psychology? lol?)
