ATTENTION PET OWNERS

This post is going to rushed but I’m still shaking and it’s hard to type but I NEED people to know this

My mom just took my dog to the vet She(my dog) was(still is?) having a seizure

Last month we took my dog to the vet and they told us she had developed diabetes, they told us it was caused by the food she was eating, purina beneful. They told us that there have been many many many reports of Beneful has been causing diabetes, seizures, and even death in dogs.

We had no idea

We immediately switched her food and put her on a special diet plan for her diabetes, unfortunately the effects were already permeate.

Today at 11:20 my mom woke me up crying, I helped her carry my dog to the car (while she was still having a seizure) and watched her drive away red faced and still crying.

Please please PLEASE if you are feeding your pets Purina beneful PLEASE switch their food ASAP Beneful is poising dogs and I don’t want anyone else to experience what I just did Also if you could please help me signal boost this so everyone can know

I did some googling and all the information I found on this sort of stuff was old and resolved (ie: Purina defended their product and there was no science to back up any claims) so I’m a little hesitant to switch my dogs food over this. She’s been eating Beneful for a few weeks now and she’s had no change in health or behavior.

I understand people want to keep their animals (and other animals) safe, but blaming the food is not always the right course of action. Sure, the food might be making them sick, but each dog is different. Just like certain foods don’t agree with certain people, some dogs just don’t handle certain food well. there’s no evidence that one type of food will be harmful to all dogs.

Just watch your dogs, especially if you’re changing their diet. Purina has been around forever and follows the same safety guidelines as other major dog food producers. They test their products the same as other companies too. No offence, but I’m more likely to trust them than a few people on the internet.

Just wanna add to this a bit. Speaking as someone who works at a PetSmart, I do hear a lot of complaints about Beneful and Purina. HOWEVER Purina Pro Plan is the exception. Puppy Chow, Purina One/Beneful/Pedigree (basically the foods you can find for cheap in grocery stores) tend to have the most problems for dogs and they vary from things like diabetes to really dry skin. HERE ARE SOME GOOD DOG FOODS: Science Diet Royal Canin Authority Nulo (my dogs currently on this and they love it) Avoderm Nature’s Recipe Natural Balance Wellness Nutro Eukanuba Caster & Pollux Blue Buffalo (however smaller breeds sometimes get diarrhea from the high levels of protein, if you go Blue go with the Blue Basics or Life Protection formulas, if you have larger dogs such as Pits, Shepherds, Husky/Malamutes try the Wilderness blends those are amazing) Also Only Natural is a newer brand to our stores but its immensely popular and extremely healthy. Overall different dogs do well on different foods. Talk to your vet if the foods your on are actually treating your dog well, talk to a PetSmart Associate, most of us know our shit about what is good for different breeds/life stages/dietary needs.

Though the windows to the soul, he would prefer his secrets to be kept at that: secrets. Though the radiance of the woman could be considered blinding, Jhin payed little attention to her over all appearance and directed his attentions to the creativity flowing throughout him. Most of these creative ideas remained at bloodlust, violent pictures of a bloody night sky painted with her blood, but Jhin would never give away his plans early. There was a show to prepare for. Impulsively brushing his fingers over his gun,  he tapped his foot in intervals of four to keep him from twitching with anticipation. He needed to know the woman’s name before he could truly create himself a masterpiece.

Unnoticably shifting his weight from one foot to another, he opened his mouth in hopes his brain could piece together a proper sentence from all the spilled blood.
