忌堂. I CHOKED ON SUCH LONGING I COULDN’T SPIT OUT. YES, DESIRE IS SO DIFFERENT WHEN GOD BORE YOU HUNGRY.
A private + independent “Hikaru Indōu” of Mokumokuren’s The Summer Hikaru Died. Written lovingly by—
I. The portrayal of “Hikaru Indōu” on this blog will adhere to canon in most aspects, though personal interpretations/headcanons will most definitely be present. As I am currently rereading and catching up with the manga, I ask that you be patient with me in regards to my portrayal of “him,” which may be subject to changes as new chapters arrive.
II. This blog is permanently SLOW activity. Between work and an embarrassingly low social battery, my replies both in- and out- of character will almost always be sporadic. Plotting and writing in general may be slower on my end, but I promise that if i follow you, I want to write with you! My IMs are always open to bounce around ideas, and any + all initiatives are endlessly appreciated. On that note, the best way to start writing with me is by sending in (un)prompted asks and continuing them into threads. Please note that I am currently experimenting with my writing style. Some threads will utilize first person while others will utilize third and/or a slight mix of both. If this is an issue, do refrain from following as I cannot promise consistency at the moment. No prior knowledge of the series is needed to write together, as I am more than happy to provide all background information necessary and am completely open to crossovers and new verses alike.
III. Threads on my end will be in accordance with the beta editor. Some extent of formatting will be used, but nothing too excessive. For better accessibility on my end, please avoid using multiple spaces between each word when writing with me. Of course, should I need to revise anything in my replies for accommodation purposes, never hesitate to reach out!
IV. Considering the genre of the series, this blog carries an allowance to triggering themes, including (but not limited to): gore, body horror, depersonalization, cannibalism, exploration of internalized homophobia, queer guilt, etc. I only tag what mutuals ask to be tagged [#trigger /], though my memory is susceptible, and I admit now that there may be a fault on my part. If this happens, please do not hesitate to send me a reminding message or block at your desire. Regardless, tread with caution and curate your space as needed. The Summer Hikaru Died deals with many sensitive topics, and I want to make it clear that I don’t have an inclination to water down my portrayal or disregard any critical engagement when it comes to writing “Hikaru.” As the series is a story about queerness/sexuality explored through the grotesque, I will also be exploring such. However, I want to handle this with the utmost care I possibly can. “Hikaru’s” canonical storyline follows him as a teenager, and while the manga explores his sexuality then, I will not. Do not push that on me. In “Hikaru’s” high school verse, I will follow his canonical struggle with finding home within “his” body, memories and identity, and innocent yet troubling puppy love struggles while also adhering to the gothic elements of his storyline (e.g., murder and supernatural origins and consumption). I have crafted another verse (his main verse), in which “Hikaru” graduates high school and continues into adulthood as he takes over his grandfather’s shiitake farm. In this verse, in addition to previous themes explored during his teenage years, cannibalism and explicit material may/will be explored in relation to “his” sexuality. Note: aside from with portrayals of Yoshiki, Hikaru Indōu pre-death will most likely not be explored or written.
V. Regarding dynamics, all platonic, familial, and/or antagonistic relationships are highly encouraged! Romantic ships require much more plotting and fleshing out, but I am always open to exploring such so long as we build something substantial.
VI. General dni criteria + rp etiquette are applied.
VII. Any theft from this blog will not be tolerated. While I in no way created “Hikaru Indōu,” my writing and interpretation of “him” are both precious and exhaustive to me— that is to say, carried with so much love. Let us enjoy each other’s presence and words while also remaining respectful… ☆~(ゝ。∂)
