screenshots i took during the beginning of a movie. what caught my attention is the use of the black and white. the way that the white circles give an idea lights on buildings and cars and street lights on a dark night in the city.

I like the colours on this and how they're put together
Just another example of using shapes to create shape... taken from a marketing website
Saw this in a health magazine..just like how they used the capsules to make what looks like a snowflake - using objects to make shapes..I guess🤷🏾♀️
shape (circles) or point, maybe? there’s also a bit of blur in the background and contrast in tone - there’s a bit of white and grey and the shapes are a darker colour. This is a picture of still water in a bottle that has been left out for some time.
not sure where i got this from, but i love it. i mostly love how the colours all come together and how they contrast with the dominant white colour.
a picture taken by yours truly in a village in Wales. When I took this it was just a matter of loving the scenery, but now, having learned so much about visual communications, I see the different aspects to it (though very basic and limited). Like how the the blue and white colours of the buildings match the blue and white of the sky and the clouds. The brown from the railway tracks also matches some of the buildings and the roof tops, and this also gives that bit of rough texture to the picture (especially the gravel on the tracks). You can also see the different grids used on the buildings, as well as the contrast between the light and shadowy areas and how they intertwine. :)
ok, not the best, but i was kind of experimenting with lines and point, and this is what i came up with. there’s also bit of tone contrast with the shapes on the left and colour contrast as well. what i was aiming for here (which might not be executed that well) is a face with all the different types of human skin tones which were filled in using point.
i like how we get our concepts from nature. Eg, the obvious which is colour - the blue sky with the brown trees in the background plus the brown of the leaf and the contrasting white-ish frost. Also the lines on the leaf and how some are straight, some curved and the different angles they take.
I have no idea what I’m doing because I don’t consider myself to be anywhere near creative when it comes to art, but here you go. I used some lines, shapes and colour + texture and contrast, i think. Not much inspiration for these really, it was my first time using photoshop properly on the laptop so... although these look very very basic, they took me hours to do and it was done in the middle of the night, so don’t be too harsh, lol.
This was created using only emojis. The way the different emojis are used is really cool, especially the coordination of colours.
Three seasons in one photo?
It might just be me, but the way i see it this picture shows the before, during and after (ish) of Autumn..or if you like, you could say the transition from Summer to Autumn to Winter. (Again it might just be me here), if you look on the far right you can see the tree leaves have a greenish colour, which could be the mark of the end of summer- the before. Then as you move to the middle of the picture, they have that intense yellow Autumn colour- the during. And lastly the (one) tree on the far left has nearly no leaves left, or gives that illusion anyway, which is what happens in Winter - the after.
picture taken from a CNN article talking about the end of British Summer Time.
I created this using photoshop on my phone, it is basically just some overlapping circles. The image initially was bright and multicoloured, but setting the difference in tones, plus the splash of yellow, green and blue (and their shades) felt like it would showcase a bit more in terms of visuals. There’s also a shadow effect I used just to give it a bit of depth and maybe try to remove most of the white space.
