Paul Rand said, âIf, in the business of communications, âimage is king,â the essence of this image, the logo, is a jewel in its crown.â
As designers and identity managers we treat logos exactly like that â as jewels in the crown. We place standards, rules, and restrictions around the usage of logos in order to protect this jewel from becoming tarnished. We work tirelessly to preserve equity and doggedly police usage to prevent loss of recognition.
We advocate to our clients that logos should, at all times, be used consistently. They should not be modified or tampered with, and they should spread a message of corporate stability to ensure that audiences are not confused.
