Достопримечательности Киева: улица Ярославов Вал

Валы представляли собой стены от 7 до 15 метров, которые были дополнительно укреплены рвами и специальными земляными бастионами. Строили валы из сырого кирпича и дерева.  Со стороны поля они были также присыпаны землей. Остатки валов существовали в Киеве до 1832 года, до того как была сделана новая планировка Старого города.
