Eloy Morales is a Spanish hyperrealist artist. Each self portrait is an introspective exploration of the artist himself, who says that "I try to show my inner world in my work...My ambition is to continue to dedicate my life to paint every day." He takes approximately a month to complete each work, in a detached studio away from his house where he paints alone, absorbed in the process.

Amazing Aluminum Human Wire Sculptures

Korean artist Seung Mo Park created these incredible human figure sculptures using tightly wrapped layers of aluminum wire based on fiberglass forms. The works shown here are part of the Brooklyn-based artist’s Human series where he recreates the delicate wrinkles and folds of clothing as well as the sinuous musculature of the human body in metallic layers reminiscent of tree rings. He’s also sculpted bicycles, musical instruments and other forms as part of his Object series.

Joseph Plateau invented the phenakistoscope a century and a half ago- a device comprised of a spinning disk that produced "animations" in a mirror. A maid transforms into an ogre-like crone; a series of frogs hop endlessly in a circle. How it works, courtesy of Juxtapoz: "The phenakistoscope used a spinning disc attached vertically to a handle. Arrayed around the disc’s center were a series of drawings showing phases of the animation, and cut through it were a series of equally spaced radial slits. The user would spin the disc and look through the moving slits at the disc’s reflection in a mirror. The scanning of the slits across the reflected images kept them from simply blurring together, so that the user would see a rapid succession of images that appeared to be a single moving picture."

Reuters journalist Damir Sagolj captured this photo of Keigo Sakamoto, 58, holding Atom, one of his 21 dogs and over 500 animals he keeps at his home in the exclusion zone near Naraha, on September 17, 2013. Sakamoto, a former caregiver and farmer who refused to leave the exclusion zone around the crippled Daiichi nuclear power plant decided to name his dog Atom because it was born just before the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disaster. With donations and support from outside Fukushima, Sakamoto lives with his animals of which many were abandoned by previous owners as they left the exclusion zone.

Neo Japan 2202 is a scifi universe created by Johnson Ting.

"In the year 2200, corruption in the world has reached its peak, even police officers are involved in terrorist attacks. In Japan, Neorai Industries has successfully launched its Neo Keisatsu joint project with the government, and replaced all existing human officers into A.I powered mechas. Mass riots appeared throughout Japan by ex-officers and worried citizens, but the riots were contained efficiently and almost immediately with the merciless Neo Keisatsus. They soon proved that mechas are indeed better in handling tasks and duties than human beings, as crime rate lowers and corruption seems to fade out from Japan, they reannounced "Japan" to "Neo Japan" in the year 2202. Many still doubts the Neo Keisatsu project till this day, as machines are still machines, it can still be controlled and if fallen into the wrong hands, the outcome would be unimaginable."
