RIP Robert Tinney (November 22, 1947 – February 1, 2026), the artist famous for his playful covers for Byte magazine, a computer hobbist magazine that ushered in the microcomputing age from the mid-70s through the 90s. I'm honored to have included some of his work in my own art collection.

45 years ago, the future looked like this: Ford Bronco Montana Lobo, 1980. A radical prototype truck based on a 1977 Bronco chassis. The concept was a collaboration between Ford's design centre in Dearborn and the Ghia Design Studios in Italy. It showcased futuristic styling and advanced features such as digital instrumentation and tinted Plexiglas doors. The louvered "flying buttress" design had side-facing benches in the rear bed with storage underneath.
