I suddenly got a tonne of kudos on Ao3 and idk what happened but I’m so humbled!! I got back into fanfic to work my own resentments and feelings out, so that fact that anybody sees what I write and lets me know they get it too is like...

Makes me feel not so alone.

i’ve always been interested in the potential relationship of our jasper and ocean jasper. we know fusion isn’t forced, but the lines do blur with a corrupt gem. we know some part of them stays there, it’s a tear of the mind not an erasure of it.

i always wondered...what if ocean let herself fuse with jasper b/c 1) obvs a monster girl wants to be free and not in a cage but also 2) the real ocean part of ocean jasper was trying to reach out? like girl you’re hurt, we all are, let me help. 

i like the idea of ocean being a gem that wants to know stuff, know people, is over willing to put herself in danger to try to understand others more. that jasper got lucky with choosing ocean to fuse with because the other would have noped out immediately.

hi! so this is like, a side blog for fanfic i guess? boy, i haven’t written fanfic in decades...or been in this ‘fandom’ for years. so uh, hey. if you like jasper and fanfic and like...fanfic that heals the hurt this show has kinda lumped on jasper, i’d like to say hi!

no promises my writing will be any good, or even that i’ll stay around once it’s done, if it ever is, but i hope it means something to someone! it’s not gonna be like the most grounded stuff in the world and assumes x and y first but hey, isn’t that what fanfic is for?

You’re entitled to feel hurt because your favorite character was put on the shelf while other things were set up. You’re not entitled to demand others to see your feelings as objective reality, especially when it runs counter to all the evidence presented in the show that Jasper is not only back but is going to be a major presence in season 6. In fact, her arc probably can’t happen without the setup of the previous 5 seasons.

right! like… did you really want jasper’s arc to happen before the truth about rose came out, or before she was healed from corruption? cause i’ll gladly take waiting a little longer to set those things up. 

with those things in place, she finally has the chance to have an arc that’s genuinely about her, not just about being completely devoted to her cause (as caused her s3 downfall), or as a corrupted beast without real autonomy.
