Still working on finishing the village set for my baby girl. All of these are "gifts" from her village that we "gave" her at her baby blessing/ baptism. each special word from a family member or close friend as a gift or blessing for my baby girl. I marked them each with initials on the bottom so I can teach her about who those special people are as she gets older. I still have more words to gather, but its starting to feel like a real village. I am thinking of making this custom set available in my shop someday.

Seattle friends! Once again I heard back from #urbancraftuprising and I did not get into their holiday show! I think this is my third year that I applied, so perhaps I need to take it as a sign and be done trying. If anyone knows of a Seattle holiday show that would be a good fit, please let me know. Its been a long time since I have done a Seattle show! The last show I did was the Bellevue Arts fair a few years ago.

I love when people custom order pieces that are different than my usual work, and turn out so nicely in the kiln. Always a fun surprise. I feel like these custom memory vessels are all a unique collaboration with the person who orders them. I really like when they can become a special "forever" piece to remember someone, or something.

I picked up my third print by artist #jamilahart at her show at #flight64 last night during #lastthursday on @albertastreet . one of my favorite Portland artists. This will look great in my new studio office. #onceweweretheocean

With the kiln still cooling at 200 degrees on my "packing day" and the baby at part time daycare for the day, I actually have a moment to photograph. As i use my living room as my photo studio, and a crawling baby usually by my side, this is a very rare moment to have the house to myself to take some photos. I am very quickly taking a photo of each item for my online shop, I will come back with props in a few weeks when I am more organized and I have fresh props. After many recent requests, I adjusted my dinnerware listings to allow for partial set orders, like sets of just plates or just bowls. I'm starting on my website shop update, I imagine it will take all month. I am updating all of my made to order listings first, then I will photograph my ready made pieces and add them to the shop. I am going to first focus on my website shop, and then maybe next month do a big update to my personalized item: etsy shop. I will keep you up to date when I add more items to my shop. I visited Robbie of @cookonclay on Whidbey Island with my family this weekend. I really enjoyed meeting her and seeing her great set up. Robbie and her partner Maryon make flameware pottery, all pieces are designed to withstand the thermal shock of going from freezing to the stovetop, oven, or grill. As ovensafe dishes are my most requested items, I would really love to learn more from the very generous potter/teacher, Robbie, as well as their studio annex with a Ram Press for their wholesale line. I hope to find a way to take a workshop with her. This is a regram of a photo from their instagram feed, a ceramic platter that can go on the grill for fish and veggies.
