I like to imagine that Toge is the prettiest, most perfect boy ever. He looks so much like some irl CGI model that it turns heads everywhere. He's a sorcerer risking his life every single day by choice, cuz he could easily just move to Korea and turn into an idol.
Toge is petite, short and skinny, even if you're physically weak it is still easy to pick him up, that's how light he is. The tends to focus mostly on strength training and flexibility, his muscles are lean but definitely not big, giving his body that athletic but delicate look. His entire bone structure is smallโ his head, hands, feetโ easily fitting into your clothes, if you're on the smaller side too then you two basically share everything atp. Depending on how tall you are, maybe you can even wrap your hands completely around his waist. His hair is super soft and healthy, perfect for running your fingers through his locks when he sleeps on your lap, almost purring. He smells good like a baby and his pale skin is smooth like one too, not a single "blemish" in sight, he looks like he's made of porcelain. He could easily pass as a doll. His face is really small with larger features, his bored eyes are big, he has double eyelids, long lashes, soft heart-shaped lips, and the littlest most tiniest button nose ever. Toge ages slowly, his babyface prevailing even after years of stress. I feel like the only reason girls aren't all over him is because of his weird vocabulary. What's worse is that Toge knows he's cute. He purposely acts more innocent and sweet around you, it makes others scoff "damn pick-me..." Yet you can't deny that he does look adorable when you two interlock hands, feeling how his delicate ones are significantly smaller and slender; or when he tugs on your clothes when you try to depart, mumbling a whiny "tuna..."; or when he drapes over you like it's nothing, acting like an unbothered cat. It makes me want to grab and squeeze him and never let go.
I just want to keep him on my top shelf, I wouldn't let a single particle of dust fall on him
i liked that tarantula post you should definitely post a follow up asap as soon as possible๐โโ๏ธ
I will!! There are so many characters whose personalities I'd like to explore, I'll try to finish the other seasons as quickly as possible :3 I didn't think people would enjoy my work that much, I'm so so happy ^^
Tumblr people are so sweet... I kept reading those nice comments over and over again and feeling giddier each time (โ *โ ยดโ ฯโ ๏ฝโ *โ ) How am i supposed to be nonchalant on this app
Tarantulas look like spawns straight out of hellโ creepy creatures that randomly show up crawling over surfaces with multiple sets of fuzzy legs, living in the corners and shadows, bearing their fangs with every touchโ but what most people don't realize, is that despite all that shyness, tarantulas are actually completely harmless! / How they realized that Intimidating!Reader is actually a big softie.
JJK x Intimidating!Sweet!GN!Reader (can be seen as either platonic or romantic)
โฑ CW: OOC maybe? I try to keep their personalities as canon as possible but I'm still in season 1-2 โ amateur writing โ appearance-based judgement โ vague bullying โ reader wasn't socialized as a puppy
โฑ A/N: First post yayy I'm def gon write a part two but keep in mind I haven't finished the series nor the manga
YUJI ITADORI
Yuji is already well used to grumpy people, so don't go thinking he's easily intimidated. He responds to cranky remarks and glares with a grin that could make the sun jealous, always looking for the best in everyone, always being that one friend you can count on for anything. Yuji is someone who really doesn't judge others based on their appearance. Even if your dead-serious expression made his palms clammy on the first meeting, he quickly pushed that first impression aside and looked forward to making you warm up to him. His attempts were successful! Out of everyone, he was the only one who didn't shy away. You began following him around like a lost puppy, the pink-haired boy being the only source of comfort in that social circle. On the other hand, you look grim all the time, and Yuji would be lying if he said it didn't bother him just a little. You were so quiet and awkward, how was he supposed to know if you were truly happy with his presence?
One time, however, you decided to go for a walk on the streets of Tokyo, letting stress from the sorcerer life release from your body with every step. It was just a way to quiet down both the mind and body, until you heard a loud voice calling your name.
From the direction of the sound, stood Yuji, excitedly waving at you. You waved back with much less enthusiasm, but on the inside, you were jumping with joy.
Just as he was running up to you with a big smile on his face, his shoe caught on a peeble. Yuji fell to the ground just as he was a few feet away from you, face-planting on the hard concrete and groaning loudly.
He eventually got up, too busy caressing his now aching features "Ouch..."
A snort snapped him out of the embarrassment. Glancing up, he was greeted with the biggest grin ever from someone like you. You quickly covered your mouth with a hand, trying to muffle a train of giggles.
For a moment, Yuji completely forgot about the pain, letting out a chuckle of his own "Hey! It really hurt, y'know.."
That only made you laugh harder. He didn't care that you were laughing at him, as long as you kept smilling like that.
MEGUMI FUSHIGURO
In a way, Megumi also comes off as intimidating to others, but because he chooses to act nonchalantly. Walking around with a pokerface, voice monotone, carefully-chosen words, never caught taking part in his team's shenanigans. Although your case of RBF surpassed Megumi's completely. Intimidation wouldn't be the right term to describe Megumi's first impression of you. I guess his instintics as a sorcerer just involuntarily flare whenever you're around. He isn't one to discriminate peopleโ spites those who do so, but his body betrays him by tensing up when your gaze locks on him.
During mission, you two had been partnered. Once again, Megumi was supposed know better than discriminating, then why did he feel such dread when both of your names were in the same sentence? He was quieter than usual. Megumi isn't one for small talk, only speak up when needed. With you, however, he was completely silent, as if his voice and mind refused to ease up around you.
At some point, he summoned his black divine dog, only for the animal to completely ignore him and strutting to his scary partner's direction.
He choked on the next breath, momentarily fearing for his shikigami's safety. But as he got a look at the scene...
The dog was sniffing at you, panting happily. Megumi was dumbfounded, breaking out of that trance after hearing a whimper.
The one person who scared off all of his colleagues, his partner which had been burning holes on the back of his head the entire time- shook on their spot, gripping their own clothes as an anchor while goggling at the animal.
For a moment, he didn't know what to say. How could he have let his emotions get the better of him? Megumi, out of all people? He sighed, annoyed with how childish he had acted.
"Are you afraid of dogs?" He asked, turning into a completely different person after that discovery.
You looked up, it was the first time he had talked to you during the entire mission. A shy nod answered his doubt.
"You have no reason to be afraid. He only attacks enemies at my command. My shikigami are always harmless with partners."
Glancing at the shikigami once again, relentlessly wagging it's tail, you decided to trust his words. It took a lot of courage, but you eventually crouched down, lightly touching the dog as if caressing a bomb.
Your movements were so unsure, have you ever petted an animal before?
The dog responded positively, jumping on top of you. At first you struggled in fear, but after realizing that it just wanted to lick you, you couldn't help but break in a bashful smile.
Thankfully, the rest of the team wasn't around. They wouldn't stop teasing him of how the corners of his mouth curved up just slightly.
He had judged you wrong.
NOBARA KUGISAKI
The thing about Nobara is that she is unafraid to express what she thinks, if she has an opinion, you will immediately know it. We've all seen her first meeting with the first year, appearances are crucial to her as a first impression. They look like they would tell their friends not to come to school tomorrow. That's how she judged you after mentally destroying the boys. You can tell Nobara doesn't like you by her stink eye and the way she constantly avoids you. In fact, she almost looks grossed out with every interaction between you two.
She avoids you like the plague, so why are you always staring? What do you want from her? Your whole appearance was enough to make people uncomfortableโface seemed stuck with a permanent scowl, head hanging low, standing stiffly beside peopleโ but your eyes... They were just something else. Shadows obscured your face, only adding to the creepy way you observed people. It looked like you were planning actual murder behind that deadly silence.
At first she ignored it. You were weird, but at the end of the day, Nobara isn't that mean. She couldn't just assume your intentions based on nothing but first impressions. When it persisted, her annoyance only accumulated by the day until it finally exploded.
In the blink of an eye, you were stuck in an unpleasant position. Back flat on the wall as the girl cornered you, frowning.
"You got a problem? If you have something to say, then quit beating around the bush!"
"Eh?" What were you supposed to say in this situation?
"Don't play dumb." Her tone was harsh "You are always staring at me. Do I have something on my face?"
You nodded without thinking properly, quickly trying to explain yourself "No! I mean- It's just... I- I don't know if you..."
"What? Are you chickening ou-"
"I just think you're... V-very pretty.." You interrupted her.
"Huh??" Now it was her turn to look confused.
"I... Wanted to ask what kind of skincare products you use but... You're right, I chickened out."
In any other situation she would've thought you were lying just to save yourself. But the way your whole face flamed with embarrassment and eyes kept switching between her and the floor was definitely not an act.
"Y-you..." She mumbled out, before huffing and walking away.
To other eyes, that might have looked like a rejection. But as Nobara turned her back to you, she quickly covered her face, which was burning up. Was did she feel so flattered?!
MAKI ZENIN
Despite being a responsible and focused student, your energy managed to throw her off, but just a little. She has been through a lot already, each hardship toughening the girl into building impenetrable walls. She doesn't show it, but Maki feels challenged, not threatened. With the way your cold gaze penetrates others, she automatically assumes that you must think you're better than them. And she's going to test that confidence of yours.
You were one of the few students who would stay back when others trained, just silently watching the practice. She would notice how people moved slower than usual, their movements unsteady, distracted. It was all influenced by your presence, who brought such impact even from the distance. The students felt distracted from your gaze alone. Maki walked towards you already wondering what kind of cards you were hiding.
You averted your gaze to the floor just for a second, and suddenly the girl was infront of you.
"Why aren't you training?" She sounded stern, but that's just how her voice sounds naturally.
Her question was met with silence, you fidget with your sleeves, head bowing just slightly. Maki waited for a response, and when she realized that you weren't going to answer, a cursed weapon was thrown your way. You barely managed to catch it, fumbling with the object as you looked up at her with confusion.
"Train with me. Let's see if the others actually have a good reason to fear you."
To put it briefly, they didn't.
Maki prepared herself so much for the battle, attentively observing every twitch of your body. Adrenaline pumped in her veins as she launched at you with no pity.
Her eyes were more relaxed now, as she stared at your unconscious body on the floor. Alright, maybe she went a little too far...
Shoko accompanied you. You dragged your feet from the infirmary while clutching at your sore limbs.
Just ahead, stood Maki. Who, upon sensing your presence, turned to face you with a dead-serious expression. That made you hesitate on approaching, stopping at a reasonable distance.
She waited for you to speak first, half-expecting a well-deserved rude remark or straight up agression.
But you didn't do that, obviously. Opting for a soft-spoken apology.
"I don't remember what happened. Sorry, did I damage your weapon?"
That sounded so pathetic she let out a long-drawn sigh. Maki didn't answer for a moment, extending her arm and handing you a can of soda.
"I got a little carried away. You're a newbie, after all. I shouldn't have charged at you like that." That was the closest to an apology you would get from the stubborn girl.
It was barely noticeable, but she seemed rather... Bashful? Maki felt a little silly for falling to the illusion your appearance created.
Glancing at the can, the vapor condensating and forming water droplets on the outsideโ that moment you figured Maki wasn't as cold as she tried to come off asโ opening the drink and taking a sip.
TOGE INUMAKI
I'd say Toge is the one who reacts the most normally. Because of his lack of crucial communication (words), he learned how to understand others in a deeper way, noticing things that others often miss. You have an intimidating appearance, so what? Has nobody taken note of how you look so ashamed to take up space? How much you fidget, avoid eye contact, and talk as softly as possible? Others might let it pass, but Toge knows it: you're not nearly as scary as you look.
He knew that ever since you two met for the first time. As you introduced yourself, everyone became quieter than usual, your eyes had this natural glare to them. But Toge was paying attention to the smaller picture, of how your fingers trembled as you brought them up to your lips, nibbling on the skin.
He was the first to greet back. You had expected passive aggressiveness from him, a forced smile, a weird look, maybe even direct rudeness. But all that was thrown your way wasโ "Kelp"โ an onigiri ingredient?
"... Huh?"
"Tuna mayo."
Someone else had to break down Toge's cursed speech technique. Since you were new to all of this, the few times both of you would have a conversation, he opted for communicating by typing on his phone or by writing in the dirt.
Toge sat beside a tree, it's leaves protecting the boy from the sun's harsh rays. Watching as the first and second year trained together. He was supposed to be resting today, but that plan was interrupted as you approached him. He stood up, and both of you stayed quiet, but for different reasons.
"Inumaki-san" You began to fidget again, looking more shy than usual "Could we... Train together? I feel like the others don't like me that much, they always look so uncomfortable when I'm around."
In a way, you reminded him of Yuuta, and that thought made him feel slightly more comfortable around you.
He reached for his phone before grimacing, he left it charging at his dorm, and the grass below him wasn't suitable for writing. Looks like he has no other choice.
"Salmon."
He didn't expect you to understand it. Yet, he watched as you grabbed a folded piece of paper from your pocket, reading it before feeling confident enough to reply. "Is that a yes?"
Did you...?
He moved to your side, peering at the paper as well. Multiple notes were scattered around the page, days-worth of evidence, trying to figure out the meaning behind every onigiri ingredient. No one had ever told you what any of that meant, you went out on your way to investigate his unique vocabulary.
The way his eyes crinkled at the corners wasn't missed by you. He just nodded.
JUNPEI YOSHINO
Poor little Junpei. Even if you looked as harmless as a kitten this guy would still have his guard up around you. After suffering so much, he learned that everyone is capable of evil. Humans are heartless, cruel, they cannot be trusted. So upon meeting an intimidating reader, he would immediately assume that you are hiding bad intentions. He doesn't try to socialize. In fact, he avoids you as much as physically possible. Whenever you two are in the same space, he constantly glares at you only to avert his gaze when you notice it. He was just waiting for your mask to fall, for the day you would finally stop toying around with him and get to the real business.
Junpei had just opened his brand new movie club, it was a small space where he and the only two other members could sit down and talk about their favorite films, away from judgement and drama. But just as they were about to chat, their heads quickly turned as the door opened, revealing you. The air became thick, you just stood there like a ghost, carrying a presence so heavy the members immediately got up and left in fear. Now, Junpei might be closed-off, but he is no coward. He stayed, getting up defensively. His body tensed up impossibly so as you approached him with slow steps, your head hanged low, hiding your eyes from him. His fists clenched as your mouth opened, ready to protect himself. You mumbled something, way too quiet for him to hear.
His Adam's apple bobbed "What?"
He actually flinched when your hand raised. However, instead of attacking him, you began to fidget with the collar of your uniform. Your head finally raised, face warming up by the second. You weren't even looking at him.
"Is this the movie club?..."
He actually couldn't believe just how meek your voice sounded.
He was too shocked to answer your question, staring at you with widened eyes.
"I know that movie" you pointed to a poster beside him "Terrifier, right? The trailer looked interesting b-but... I couldn't finish it, there was so much blood I almost fainted.."
You waited for an answer, and got none. Not bearing his gaze on you anymore, you took his silence for rejection.
You gulped down the shame "S-Sorry." And turned around, ready to leave.
"Wait!" He quickly exclaimed.
You stopped and looked at him again. Suddenly, you looked more like a mouse rather than a snarling wolf.
"I- uh..." He fumbled with his words before speaking up, still tense from the after-effects of fear. "Yeah, it was pretty realistic.. And violent. But it's not like we can expect much from a splatterpunk movie after all... Would you-" he hesitated for a moment, but just for a moment. "Like some recommendations? We got some sci-fi here, too. We don't need to talk about horror."
You smiled, and it was oddly infectious. Seems like the club had a new member.
