My concern, almost, was that he was going to be one of those people who’s always giving unsolicited advice, because he’s older than me and has more experience, but if anything, it was almost the opposite. I agree that to Philip it may have evoked memories of his sister’s funerals, but it was still a cruel and cowardly thing to do, to coerce young boys into performing their grief for the public.

And I agree with your take of fuck the monarchy. There can never be true democracy with unelected heads of state, a lack of transparency surrounding their roles, an unelected (and in some parts hereditary) upper house, and no written constitution.

i agree that inherited power can be dangerous for a country’s integrity. however, i’m glad that they don’t possess the total power they once did before. absolute power corrupts absolutely everything.
