I just finished Draft 2 of The Mysteries of the Apricot Sun! 🎊 It's been a long ride, and I'm really happy I got it done.

I might take a longer break between now and starting Draft 3 - maybe 1 month instead of two weeks? There are still largish parts of the story that I feel require a serious rewrite, and I don't want to rush planning them. Additionally, I have a new, shorter project that I kind of want to get started on this month.

Update: I’m probably going to start Draft 3 of TMotAS on the 15-day mark (so on Sunday) after all. The story changes seem manageable enough. I’ll still try to start the novella soon, though - looking at early April.

I’m aiming for TMotAS to have a summer 2027 release date because I really want a season-matching release after missing out on the chance with ASwtI, and there’s pretty much no way I’m getting it done by the end of this summer. It’ll be nice to have more space between the final edits and release, anyway.
