when i heard this theme, i immedietly thought of “when the day met the night” by panic! at the disco, and right after, i thought of “day and night” by taemin. honestly, this took way longer than it should have, because it’s short as hell. who cares though.
When humans look up towards the sky, all they see are lights, beautiful dazzling lights. They see the constellations, and they try to understand their story, as if they would be able to know everything that took place in the world above.
They’ll never understand the stories and struggles, but there are some that they don’t even know ever happened.
All the beautiful things in the sky that humans see have stories. All the beings in the sky that creatures on the Earth see have lives, but humans seize to realize this.
The Stars, the Clouds, the Rain, the Snow.
The most beautiful stories and the ones that go unknown, though.
All they wanted was a peaceful love, but, like always, the happiest beginnings always have the saddest endings.
You won’t know until you try to find out.
I mean, that’s what all humans do.
So let me start this story out by tell you some information that you’ll need to know.
All the things in The Sky that you see are deities.
One deity can’t be in another romantic relationship with another deity. If the Celestial King and Queen find out that two deities have either began having a relationship together or have began having kids, they will separate the deities to opposite sides of the galaxy, and the unborn child will be slain.
No one has ever tried to break that rule.
Or that’s what everyone was told it was told.
“Jiminie, let me tell you a story.”
“Why?” Jimin asked, genuinely curious as to what story Taehyung could tell him that he didn’t already know.
“Just- Jimin. Let me tell you a story.” Taehyung grabbed for Jimin’s hand, and, just this once, Jimin let him take his hand. He wasn’t like Taehyung. He was willing to give up his spot as a deity, for Taehyung.
“A long time ago,” Taehyung began. “The Earth and The Sky were made. The Earth was named Hoseok and the Sky was named Yoongi. They were friends, and they made everything together. They made the Mountains, the Snow, the Rain; everything.
“One day, though, they were sitting together, when Yoongi realized that he wanted to have everything with Hoseok. He wanted to live with Hoseok, he wanted to kiss Hoseok, he wanted to raise deities with Hoseok. He wanted to be happy with Hoseok.
“He felt a sudden rush of want and love flow through him, and he knew that he had to say it at that moment. He had to say that he loved Hoseok.
“He told Hoseok that he wanted to tell him something, and when Hoseok turned around, he, again realized why he wanted to be with him. When he let the words slip out, Hoseok leaned forward and kissed him. At that moment, Yoongi felt even more love rush through him. It was also at that same moment that the Celestial King and Queen were created. The clash between Yoongi and Hoseok created the two most praised constellations in the galaxy, and they were powerful. Too powerful.
“The Celestial King knew how powerful they were. He knew that if they were to even have any sort of loving and physical interactions with each other, they would create a very powerful being. He also knew that him and the Celestial Queen were made for each other by the souls of The Sky and The Earth. He knew that if he were to be with the Celestial Queen at all, he would fall in love with her.
“At that moment, he made an oath to himself to never fall in love with her. The Celestial King made the Rule that all the deities had to follow. ‘One deity can’t be in another romantic relationship with another deity. If the Celestial King and Queen find out that two deities have either began having a relationship together or have began having kids, they will separate the deities to opposite sides of the galaxy, and the unborn child will be slain.’
“The only problem with that Rule was that the Celestial Queen wanted to have children with a deity. She wanted to bear children that could be raised by her, and she knew for a fact that other deities wanted that, too.
“While all of this was going on, Yoongi and Hoseok weren’t even aware that the Celestial King and Celestial King were deities that were created by them. Both of the deities were living together, planning on having their own children.
“When they became aware of the Rule that the Celestial King made, they became furious. By the time that they became aware of this, they had their own child. His name was Jungkook, and they were living happily together.
“Yoongi and Hoseok went to the Celestial King and Queen, and they demanded a reason as to why the other constellations couldn’t have children. The Celestial King tried to avoid the topic, but when even the Queen questioned his reasoning, he burst. He told them that he didn’t want to be overthrown. He didn’t want all of the deities to be weakened, or for him to be weakened.
“The Queen was outraged, along with Hoseok and Yoongi. They demanded the Rule to be changed, but when he said no, the Queen said that she was still a royal, and that she should be able to have power, too.
“Hoseok and Yoongi still didn’t know that the Celestial King and Queen were their creations, so when the King let is slip, everyone was shocked, including the Queen.”
Taehyung, who was staring out towards the ocean, turned his face towards Jimin, who had been looking at Taehyung’s profile the whole time.
They made eye contact, and Jimin could feel the sparks fly, the butterflies flutter. Taehyung’s eyes looked a little bit more energetic than they did earlier. He looked genuinely happy.
“The Queen, Hoseok, and Yoongi demanded that the Rule was changed once more,” Taehyung continued as Jimin looked towards the ocean. “But, yet again, the King refused. The Queen felt all the anger that was growing throughout the conversation grow. When the King mumbled that he wanted to stay here with the Queen, though, she told him that they would just let the problems come when they had to. He locked eyes with her, and he said that he would change the Rule.
“On that day, December 24th, the Rule was changed, and all deities were able to be together. All deities were given the right to have children and to live the happy lives that they were unable to have before.”
Jimin’s head shot up, and he felt the tears begin to grow in the corners of his eyes.
“Taehyung, is this real…?” Jimin whispered, hoping that he wasn’t experiencing a dream.
Taehyung reached for Jimin’s hand and took it into his own, staring right into Jimin’s eyes, and smile creeping onto his face.
“Yes, my beautiful Sun. We can finally be one. We can’t finally be the Sun and Moon that we wanted to be.”
“Sun and Moon…” Jimin muttered. “We can be the Earth and Sky that we should have been.” Jimin grinned, and as he looked towards Taehyung again, he felt affection bubble in the pit of his stomach.
Taehyung leaned forward, capturing Jimin’s lips in his own. They were finally given the feeling of safety that they were unable to fully have, and it was a feeling that they knew they wouldn’t be losing anytime soon.
