This spot. This spot right here. It was an incredibly athletic match for sure, but this spot right here is what won Gargano and Ciampa the weekend AND why I tell authors to watch (good) professional wrestling. It was such a profound moment in an incredibly emotional match. Good work, guys.

And this, this is what I love about this story line so much: the hard, cold reality of the situation. We can argue up and down all day about how Cody Rhodes may have exacerbated the situation, but the reality is that Kenny Omega was never really Bullet Club. He never wanted into the group: he was pulled in. Even now, years after their initial run, Devitt, Styles, Gallows and Anderson still carry their loyalty to the Club. No matter where they are or what they do, somehow, someway, they find a way to rep Bullet Club.
Kenny just...doesn’t.
Underneath all of the leather and swagger is the reality that this just isn’t Omega thing. But no one would question the loyalty of the Bullet Club leader, at least not until Cody came and did just that. If he really wanted to lead the Club, all Kenny had to do was be loyal: that’s it. All he had to do was prove his loyalty to the Club over Kota Ibushi and this would’ve all been squashed. And while the rest of the Club are struggling to keep everything together, Kenny Omega’s already made his choice and his choice is not Bullet Club.
At this point, the only thing keeping him in is his personal pride and refusal to admit what Cody has shown the entire world: that Kenny Omega would rather be a Golden Lover again. He’d much rather run around with Kota Ibushi. So be it. But it’s time to stop acting like this is a fight over leadership. It’s time for Kenny Omega to do the right thing, go to Supercard of Honor, get down on his knees, KISS THE RING and step down as leader of Bullet Club before the match even begins. Whoever steps in next, whether it be one of the OGs or Cody himself, is still to be decided. But that’s a family decision and Kenny, you’re not family.
