actually i do think it's worth litigating a difference between works that only incidentally make appeal to BL audiences (naruto, mha, early bleach, demon slayer somehow etc) and works by authors who do seem intrinsically motivated to draw gay stuff (saint seiya, kemono jihen, hxh, jjk somehow)

however the problem with that is that pretty much everybody who's motivated to write/draw such subject matter will be seeing some rorschach test type shit convincing them of how Their reading is correct and evidence-supported. such is life

prev is funny to me because i do keep like an extensive list in my head of shounen manga with canonically gay/lgbt characters (non-offensive stereotype)

its mostly useless. i do yearn for the day that shounen jump lets somebody do a gay main character in an otherwise cliché battle manga, though
