Hi you can call me Kaito! This is a blog for venting about Vocaloid or other Vsynths. From community drama to software issues, I'll post it!!

I will generally post anything and everything. The asks I post do not reflect my actual opinions or values.

I will sometimes comment with advice or thoughts. You can ask me not to.

I will add rules as issues come up so. Otherwise go ham.

To the previous anon, I think it might be a case of just the language barrier making it seem like only western producers are as toxic as this? I’m sure there are plenty of Japanese producers who are toxic assholes, but us in the West only see the big producers who have the legacy and PR experience to look good. To be fair, I can only come up with Masa Works Design being an overt weirdo jackass (so sad he’s seen as the most known Gumiku producer), but under the wave of “Yoooooo new Deco*27 and Kikuo song!”, you’re not gonna see that niconico user with AI generated music videos using Teto for anti-immigration and radical Japanese Nationalist messages.

I pity all the new producers who start getting into the vsynth space and interacting with others, only to realize most Western producers are toxic or malicious people. Some have recovered and improved themselves or are very kind people. I am not talking about them, I'm very proud of every person working to better themselves. But most Western producers don't appear to do that.

I concur liking that this blog exists. Having an anonymous place to rant as a cover artist + producer is a breath of fresh air.

Im glad people like this blog! I like running it. I like seeing people's opinions. Im very disconnected from the community despite being a producer. This blog kinda lets me participate in the community without worry.

im one of the mods for a fairly popular vocaloid blog and. if i see another mikuteto ship. if i see another flavor foley ship. i think im going to lose it. i want people to get more creative when it comes to vocaloid ships!!!! god damn!!!!!

I'm already not a fan of the lolibait songs but that aside they aren't even good musically! I love a good horny vocaloid song but many of these would be mid at best and ignored if they weren't controversial.

So, Kikuo has given permission for people to use AI in his remixes. He’s gotten backlash for it. But people defend this, saying it’s a case of *ethical* AI because Kikuo gave consent for it. But the AI in question will absolutely have been trained thousands of other artists who have not given consent. It really annoys me. It really annoys me when people use the “but X creator allows people to use AI for their work!” as a gotcha.

Not to mention he’s just kinda shady? He had AI generated visuals for an event of his and people all immediately brushed it under the rug because it’s Kikuo. And even back when his NFT stuff came out, he only stopped advertising it publicly due to Western backlash but it was still up for sale.

I fucking swear Kikuo fans would be like “but he didn’t knowwww 🥺 he’s just Japanese 🥺” if he got arrested for running over a grandma while drunk.

@/the anon saying its not producers using Miku/Teto. Yes, it is. I'm a producer myself. I listen almost exclusively to smaller producers and refuse to listen to almost anything that uses Miku and Teto together because 90% of those songs are lazily made and untuned (looking at a certain Western producer when I say this. Good art doesn't make up for not tuning your vocaloids and admitting to using Teto SynthV RVC over Utau Teto. Then claiming it was Utau Teto), and still, the amount of songs that were made using only Miku or Teto for VocaGathering was extremely upsetting to look at. Some classic Engloids got absolutely zero use in favor of them. And you have to use either those two, Adachi Rei, or Yi Xi to have any hope of views, on top of an animated PV because the new fans invading from TikTok seemingly don't even care about the music itself. It's tiring.

It’s not that producers are only using Miku/teto, it’s that you guys just aren’t listening to songs with other synths. I know a ton of producers who are pretty active to this day and use unpopular synths. They just aren’t getting popular because no one cares about the vocal synth, even if the song is really good. It’s really not that hard to just go to YouTube and search “Kagamine Len” or something and go find some recent songs. And some producers just end up being pressured to make a Teto song because that’s all anyone will watch. If you’re one of the people that complains about that I get you but please at least make an effort to go find a song you do like.

People call me a gatekeeper snob when I get annoyed by people calling Teto a Vocaloid “it’s an umbrella term for all Vocal Synths!”

You know what else is an umbrella term? Vocal Synths. I see using Vocaloid as an umbrella term for the music to be more reasonable because the lines can blur between what sounds like what synthesizer software, and it’s just an easy indicator of “the singing robots music”.

“But Teto is a Vocaloid in spirit!” Yes, but her dreams from Teto Territory have long been surpassed and the Vocaloid engine just kinda sounds mid, even with V6 AI.

Vocaloid fans act weird about dead artists compared to other music fans. I swear, every time wowaka is mentioned, it’s almost about him being dead or a tribute to him because he’s dead (RIP wowaka, did you know that he’s dead?)

I think there needs to be more celebration of his work because it’s good, and not just because he’s treated as this mythical figure (who is dead btw, RIP wowaka).

Ancient discourse atp but Cake Girl may have been bad as a song, but I don't think making a fetish song is inherently a bad thing. I also don't like the goonbait thumbnails of that producer's work, though. His second song was clearly ragebait after he got harassed by Teto fans on Tiktok and I can't exactly say I don't understand his mindset.

My fucking god, newer Teto and Neru fans are the bane of my existence. They act like those two are entitled to be in every “official” Crypton promotional media or act like both are Very Misunderstood and Very Underrated. “She deserves the love!! Justice for Teto!! Justice for The Yellow One!!”

SHUT UP I SWEAR TO WHATEVER IS OUT THERE. AT LEAST PROJECT SEKAI FANS CAN NAME THE OTHER CRYPTONLOIDS.

When people say “Oh Hatsune Miku is just software she isn’t real and has no canon!” It’s usually on some stupid discourse about taboo subjects of a song or fanart or whatever. But I see it as: They Are Not Real And Have No Opinion On Anything. Kasane Teto is not some prophet.

I know parasocial is usually referred to relationships with celebrities or prominent figures but it also applies to fictional characters. SHE DOES NOT FEELINGS WHO GIVES AS DAMN IF SOMEBODY DOESN’T USE HER.

I sound really irrational and I am, but I feel like I am going insane here.
