Haleb's relationship development
So many people like to hate on Hanna and Caleb right now and say they don’t deserve their scenes or their endgame but actually Haleb’s relationship is in fact the most realistic and beautiful in my opinion and here is why..
In the beginning they were just two young, lost souls, with nobody to turn to, that found one another and have been holding on ever since. Hanna was suffering from her identity struggles and overcoming an eating disorder, whilst Caleb was homeless with no support from anyone - they were both broken. They also both suffered with family issues and felt incomplete, they were longing for the completion to their broken homes and hearts. This was until they found each other, and though being initially opposites, bonded straight away and found that they were in fact each other’s missing piece. Hanna opened up to Caleb and trusted him straight away, telling him about her eating disorder and family struggles, and Hanna was the first person Caleb opened up to about his past and you could see that Caleb’s once guarded, cold exterior quickly crumbled away when it came to Hanna as he trusted her and opened up to her when he would usually shut people down. Their relationship has always been built on trust which is one of the reasons that it is so healthy.
Their relationship has progressed beautifully since, with Caleb always protecting Hanna and Hanna always sticking up for Caleb. They have had to overcome struggles through the years but at the end of the day have always found their way back to each other and why is this? Because they simply cannot live without each other. Their relationship has, overall, been very stable compared to others and this is because they both need each other and needed the support from one another and most importantly trusted each other.
In the years they spent apart it was evident that neither of them had completely moved on and as soon as they were reunited their feelings could not stay hidden. ‘I never stopped loving you’ will always be an iconic quote as it perfectly sums up Haleb’s relationship as no matter what they will never stop loving each other and are meant to be together. A lot of people hate on Caleb after the time jump but nobody can say that he would not die for Hanna as he has risked everything for her multiple times and I’m sure will continue to do so throughout season 7.
I could write about Haleb all day but I will conclude by saying that Hanna and Caleb both found each other when they really needed someone and they completed each other. They are getting their happy ending which is well deserved after falling in love when they were 16 and being unable to live without each other ever since. They have gone from being young and in love to adults, getting married and starting a family together - the family they both always longed for.
Hanna and Caleb Rivers will forever be a beautiful relationship.
