The Ribbon Hero was a fun watch, great animation, transformation sequence and fighting chefs kiss, some good moments, and I respect their commitment to a 7 act stage play format to honor the source material’s takarazuka revue inspiration…I do wish we could’ve gone deeper into the world building, particularly the immigration and class divide plot lines, which are suggested but never followed through with.

a massive part of OCD treatment is exposure response prevention therapy, which is purposed to reduce your dependence on reflexive self-soothing when confronted with triggering incidents by triggering controlled incidents on purpose and deliberately resisting your compulsive actions, until eventually you're able to resist your compulsive action even when triggered by a spontaneous, uncontrolled incident. which means that people with OCD will spend a lottttttttttttt of time and money basically learning how to do this

I was thinking about the Ragatha- Jax- Caine parallels [Jax "lashing out" against her mother & fleeing home but losing everything and being tormented by guilt over her actions, Ragatha still trying to people-please around her mother while remaining trapped and miserable, Caine being a mix of the two: lashing out against his creators in a way that leaves him permanently guilty, but also still trapped in a "home" he can't escape trying to please people that he fears.] And anyway I think post-finale Ragatha and Caine could make everyone give them Concerned Looks together.

Niu Lai has not made its way onto tumblr yet so I guess my anglophone ass has to make a post about it
This movie is currently a huge meme in china. It came out of nowhere and inexplicably got a theatrical release, looks like ass, was animated completely by the director and his mother, and took several years to make. "Niu Lai" translates roughly to "The bull is coming" and apparently the film has several other allusions to stock market puns. The Chinese stock market coincidentally had an uptick the day of its release which added further fuel to the meme fire. After going viral Niu Lai began to actually turn profit at the box office, theatres unprepared for Niu Lai mania (the creators did not distribute any promotional material) had to improvise DIY posters:
