Bang your heads - VOID FORGER are back! This time with their buddies from VVVLV, also musicians from Romania. One song from each band, both longer than 6 minutes. VOID FORGER start with “Excess Collapse” - a rumbling, brutal crusty D-beat track which contains many elements of death metal and also slower, DYSTOPIA-like parts. And that’s where Bogdan, Aurash and David set the focus. If you look at the cover artwork you will know what is to expect: gruff, dog-barking vocals with lyrics about the final end of humanity, covered in rotten heavy music.

VVVL with “Homo Economicus” - less metal and more sludge/doom with a small & fine sounding melodic line in it. A slow, heavy track which reminds me also of DYSTOPIA and others from that direction. In the last third they increase the pace and that’s it. Again a real good song which can easily keep up with other well known crusty doom bands.

Bottom line: Good songs through and through from both bands and if you like music with a raw character, you should check this split out. Nevertheless, more is needed if you ask me. A split or a full length LP would be a good idea for the future.
