I'm so sorry I haven't been able to upload anything in a while as I now have a summer job. I hope this post makes up for the wait. I wouldn't say this is the most "lovey dovey" post, I would rather call it slightly angsty I guess? Well either way I hope you guys enjoy reading this!! Enjoyyy!

Daryl never saw himself in a relationship, to him his life contained of just his found family and the future danger he needs to save that family from. But the second you came in his life, it was as if a switch was flipped. He didn't realise that he could fall in love. In love with the way you can easily take on a herd. In love with how you care for others. In love with how you care for him.

He would often find himself looking at you longer than he meant. His gaze would follow each of your move, gently grazing your hearty smile while you talk to him about your day. His hands would often reach out before he could process to call you. His hand on your shoulder gently pulling you to face him, to have a chance to hear your voice once again.

Going on runs with you was a treat. He would let you sit behind him on his bike. Feeling your arms around his waist made his ears turn red, thankfully his hair saved him the embarrassment of getting caught. He loved when you would sit behind him, taking out walker while also cracking jokes. And of course he would never laugh at them, he would continuously give you a very brief chuckle— which you always called him out on. "You liked that one, don't cha." "Nah." "You literally laughed at it. You're such a bad liar."

All this felt so normal to him, as if the two of you are couples for the longest time— and this frustrated him. He hated feeling so comfortable and loved around someone he couldn't have. Or atleast he thought he couldn't. He would always wonder whether he even had a chance with a person like you. He never told anyone about something like such as he feared having it used against him or even you finding out. Daryl punished himself for falling in love, he believed to be in love is something he couldn't allow himself to feel because it meant he had someone so precious— someone who he can never lose. And that thought haunted him every time he thought about confessing.
